Careless trek through the woods. Momentarily drifting into a space of timelessness. Leaving the camera switched on, the lens uncovered to gather fuzz, and losing the cover along the way. Random clicks on impulse, despite a vague regret about blurred images. On zooming-in discovering interesting scenes from the wilderness. A common flameback woodpecker feasting on a ripe jackfruit. A black-capped chickadee and a velvet-fronted nuthatch engaging in some lively chit-chat. A birdie flexing its wings before take-off. Mistaking burst cotton pods for some exotic fluffy birds. A red-vented bulbul inadvertently cuts a striking image as it basks in the morning light on a leafless tree, against a shimmering backdrop that hints at something magical.

A drongo on a faraway tree
Lonesome and free
Austere its countenance
As it is perched in silence
Cloaked in an aura intense
A warning is its presence
As a sharp predator
And a fierce territorial defender
Deterring any invader
With its fearsome demeanor
Having garnered a ‘king crow’ stature
Befitting of its distinct nature
It exudes an air subdued
As it revels in solitude

Book Review: Nutcat The Wise

My Take :

This is a beautiful story book for children ,which is part of the series Tales from the Pachaihara Forest.
Pachaihara ,is a lush and vibrant forest ,where all kind of animal birds and insect live.
This story revolves around a boy named, Suvnin and His friend Nutcat who is a wise bird. A boy named Garium , feigned friendship with him and captured Nutcat . How Nutcat rescued itself from his captive and helped Garium's cook Cat is this story all about.
A wonderful read ,specially for children. My children enjoyed it a lot and now its their favourite bedtime story . Beautifully narrated and very simple language used so even a child can enjoy it by themselves.
A cosy read !!

Book Review: Lorkum's Quest

My Take :

This is a story of a special child ,who studies in a school for special child .
They are either gifted or Disabled I leave this decision on you .it depends on how you see it . For me they are gifted with special talents.

Anyway, coming to story this story talks about one day of this school and Particularly about A child named Akash. Their teacher asked them to think about an unique creature, and on suggestion and permission from everyone in class they came upon a description of a creature.
They wished for it to come alive and ta da their wish fulfilled. Suddenly this creatute comes alive and called himself ,Lorkum . He gives quest to solve them in pair of two , one has to solve or other will disappear. How they survived it ? you have to read it to know it .
An intriguing read ,which kept me glued to know what happened next .
Author has done marvellous job and portrayed the emotion, fear , insecurities of children realistically.
They are disabled in one way or another but they are beautiful soul and stick together and rescued each other in face of problem.
It's a fabulous read !
