Bowel cancer is no longer just a concern for older adults—it’s increasingly being seen in younger individuals.
What’s more concerning is not just the rise, but how often early warning signs are overlooked or dismissed as minor issues. Symptoms like re**al bleeding, unexplained anaemia, and changes in bowel habits deserve attention—not assumptions.
Early detection can significantly improve outcomes. Awareness is the first step toward timely action.

We are seeing a shift that we can no longer ignore—bowel cancer is no longer confined to older age groups.
What is more concerning is not just the rise in incidence, but how easily early warning signs are dismissed.
Re**al bleeding, anaemia, persistent constipation, or unexplained nutritional deficiencies are often brushed aside as minor issues. But are we asking the right question—why do these symptoms exist in the first place?
As clinicians, we know that early detection changes outcomes. It is time we move from assumption to investigation, from dismissal to awareness. I have shared my perspective on this growing concern and what we must do differently going forward.
Bowel Cancer in Younger India: Are We Ignoring the Obvious? Dr. Sneha Kommineni, Medical Oncologist | Spashta Healthcare Over the past decade, a concerning shift has emerged - bowel cancer, traditionally considered a disease of older adults, is increasingly being diagnosed in younger individuals.

On World Parkinson’s Disease Day, it’s important to understand that Parkinson’s goes beyond movement—it also increases the risk of frailty, poor balance, and falls.
When combined with ageing, menopause, and reduced bone strength, even a minor fall can lead to serious fractures. This connection between neurological health and bone health is often overlooked, yet clinically significant.
With the right care and a proactive approach, it is possible to reduce fracture risk, improve stability, and support better quality of life.

This Adenomyosis Awareness Month, it’s time to change the way we look at pain—because pain is not something to ignore.
Adenomyosis is often misunderstood and dismissed as “just period pain,” when it can significantly affect a woman’s daily life, fertility, and overall well-being.
Recognising the signs early and seeking timely medical guidance can make a meaningful difference in managing the condition and improving quality of life.
