When I started Blobar 8 years ago, I was new to business, new to the city, new to the culture and new to this industry. It was a culture shock. Albeit a shock that was softened by a chance meeting of so many people that just aligned so beautifully for me. who brought ne to who gave my dreams a logo and an identity. I told her , we have to incorporate “pink” because I already bought pink stationary from the US 🤣. In the course of the 8 years, I found my backbone - my team. From our housekeeping staff to the parking guys outside each location - all of them humored me, tolerated me, stood by me and checked in on me. Many fights, disagreements, celebrations and teen Patti nights followed. They aligned their values with mine and they dreamt my dream. I opened 6 locations for Blobar and this last Tuesday we shut the lights of the last location.
So many influencers took a chance on me and stood by me and gave my business their voice.
Christmas, Karwa chauth, margarita evenings, New year eve shots with clients, no criticism of “aapke baal Bahut dry hain” - we embodied honesty, fairness and mutual respect. We did thing differently and we had a lot of fun doing so. We stood our ground in the way we did things and if I may say so - we still give the BEST blowouts in the city !
Our clients and our members- thank you for the friendships.
My family, my friends - every whim and late night and lack of presence was understood.
But for me personally, the world will never be the same without my mother. I could not go on doing the same things I did. I had to find a different way of life. Life has taken me back to the US - I’m getting used to a much slower pace of life where - ma’am shampoo finish ho gaya hai, geyser leak ho raha hai, lift chal nahi rahi - are no longer keeping me up at night.
With folded hands and a lot of gratitude for all the lessons I’ve learnt in this journey - I Bid adieu. But our paths may just cross once again because you never know where life takes us next.
