Hair Care Tips and Tutorials
I thought conditioner was enough for my dry, frizzy hair… until my ends still looked rough, dull and lifeless after every wash day.
That’s when I realized my hair didn’t just need conditioning — it needed deep hydration. ✨
Started using a nourishing hair mask with aloe vera, shea & cocoa butter, niacinamide and rosemary on damp hair for 10 minutes… and my hair finally started feeling softer, smoother and healthier-looking again 🤍
Sometimes dry hair isn’t damaged… just dehydrated.

I used to think summer hair problems were only because of sweat and humidity… so I kept washing my hair more and more.
But over time, I realised my scalp was getting stripped, irritated, and dehydrated without me even noticing.
During my journey of building Slaykesh, I started understanding something most of us ignore — healthy hair doesn’t start from styling, it starts from how your scalp feels every single day.
In weather like this, your scalp needs balance.
Cleansing without over-drying.
Hydration without heaviness.
Care without irritation.
That shift changed the way I treated my own hair completely.
I used to think sweat and humidity were the only reasons my hair felt rough every summer… so I kept washing it more often.
But during my journey of building , I realised constant washing and buildup removal was also taking away moisture my hair actually needed.
Now summer hair care looks different for me —
a gentle shampoo that cleans without making my scalp feel tight,
a hydrating hair mask only on the lengths,
and a lightweight hair serum to keep the ends soft, smooth, and protected through all the sweat, pollution, and humidity.
The biggest thing I learnt?
Healthy hair in summer isn’t about avoiding sweat.
It’s about keeping your scalp soothed and your lengths hydrated at the same time.

If your scalp gets itchy, oily, or starts smelling quickly… it doesn’t mean you have “bad hair.”
It may simply mean your scalp is dealing with excess oil, sweat, buildup, or an unhealthy scalp barrier.
What can help?
• Clean your scalp properly instead of only washing hair lengths
• Avoid heavy product buildup and harsh shampoos
• Keep your scalp balanced and nourished regularly
• Focus on scalp care, not just hair care
Because healthier hair starts from a healthier scalp.
When your scalp feels fresh and balanced, your hair naturally looks healthier, softer, and more manageable too.
If this feels familiar, your scalp may be asking for care.
