Miss Luit

In mid 2001 a group of likeminded people, wanting to promote beauty, talents of this region all the way to national recognition got together as North East Beauty Forum and set up 'Miss Luit' beauty pageant. This pageant got the acknowledgement of its association from 'Femina Miss India' even before the event, as structuring and planning met up to the best industry norms. With this confidence and a successful show, held at Guwahati Tea Auction Centre, there was no looking back for the pageant. With its guiding principle of offering contestants good grooming and for those with potential getting controlled exposure, to national level modeling many young girls have gone on to do well both nationally and internationally. With a consistent record of promoting talent in the industry the pageant has become 'one–of–a–kind' in the region and is well known in India’s fashion circles. Some of these girls, who were first groomed in the 'Miss Luit' pageant, have also gone on to do well in the 'Femina Miss India' and 'Gladrags' contest. The title winner of Gladrags 2008 is also groomed and promoted from Miss Luit. Similarly in the last few years, three sub–title awards of 'Femina Miss India' have been received by our alumni. Topping all this is the super–model status achieved by Monikonkona Dutta, another of our discoveries. This year onward the pageant will be an official undertaking of the recently formed North East India Fashion & Design Council (NIF&DC).
