Ngada, the biggest festival of the Rengma Nagas, is a time for thanksgiving, forgiveness and merry making, marking the end of the agricultural year. The festival begins from preparation of rice beer at every household, to visiting houses of neighbours and relatives and friends. The dead ones are also remembered and paid respect during Ngada by offering wines and foods near the graves by their near and dear ones. The celebration lasts for 7/8 days and on the last day a big feast is organised where the entire villagers gather together to celebrate, Folk songs and dances performed by young and old.

WHY NGADA FESTIVAL?
As it is celebrated on the last week of November making it facile to collaborate with Hornbill Festival which starts on 1st Dec to 10th Dec annually. You do not have to travel all again but one can enjoy the authentic celebration of Ngada being celebrated on the exact location and set up, in between tour more Naga villages and finally experience and be a part of the Famous Hornbill Festival where all the 16 tribes of Nagas comes together to celebrate and showcase their own unique and distinct cultures and traditions, crafts, local cuisines and many more
