Suffering from bloating, belching, reflux? Chances are your stomach’s acidic levels are not at the right level. One of the best ways to re-calibrate the stomach to the right PH balance is to start the day with a tall glass of warm water, mixed with the juice of half a lemon and some pink salt.
Our stomach is supposed to be an acidic environment to aid digestion. So when there is gassiness or bloating, the issue is not high acidic levels. It means the stomach is not acidic enough and turned alkaline which is when lemon water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach is a great way to set our digestion on the right track for the rest of the day.

The sense of calm and poise that comes with a healthy body is what we all aim for. The Chinese new year of the tiger is upon us after 60 years and this year it adopts the element of water. The water tiger symbolises strength, bravery and courage - much needed qualities as we tentatively enter a post-pandemic year. It is also predicted to be a year of metamorphosis as we restart and rebuild our lives. Here’s wishing the powerful yang of tiger energy brings about positive change for all of us.

I cannot reiterate enough the importance of a big bowl of salad alongside your meals every day. Not only is it filling, it is also the best way to get your daily requirement of vitamins and minerals which are lost in the cooking process. So rather than an apple a day, seven or eight fistful of leaves and veggies keep the doctor away!
