Every year, September 1 to September 7 is observed as National Nutrition Week or Rashtriya Poshan Maah in India.
It aims to emphasise the importance of a nutritious diet for the overall development of physical and mental health. Also, the spread of awareness about the bad impact of fast food and promotes healthy eating habits.
The objective of the Rashtriya Poshan Maah (RPM) is to ensure community mobilisation and bolster people’s participation for addressing malnutrition amongst young children, and women and to ensure health and nutrition for everyone. Rashtriya Poshan Maah Celebrations & Competitions would be done in September month under National Nutrition Mission 2023.
Let us all be more conscious in our choice of food and start adapting to Healthy eating as it is said "you are what you eat".

This year 2022, World Diabetes Day theme is "Education to protect tomorrow" under the combined theme of the World Diabetes Day 2021-23 campaign "ACCESS TO DIABETES CARE ".
Diabetes is a disorder in which the body fails to process and utilise the glucose which is produced from the food we consume. Glucose is the leading source of energy in the body. Inefficient assimilation of glucose can hamper one's day-to-day activity, and unmanaged diabetes could lead to fatal complications like cardiovascular issues, nerve damage, kidney damage, foot damage, skin infections, erectile dysfunction, depression, dental problems and more.
So this day being Children's Day as well , we have to look at ourselves to lead a healthy lifestyle so that our children and future generation, can adapt the same. For a better tomorrow you must educate yourself rightly.
Adapt these simple steps in your lifestyle to prevent and treat Diabetes.
1) Do regular screening of your hbA1c level. ( For those with diabetes can do once in 3-6 months depending on their glucose control and others can do yearly screening).
2) Healthy Eating -Eat in moderation. Increase your intake of whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Reduced intake of sugar and saturated fats
3) Adopt an active lifestyle. Try 150 minutes of exercise every week. Find an activity (i.e. swimming, jogging, tai-chi or yoga, dancing).
4) Quit smoking and Drinking.
5) Be conscious and Mindful.
