Fasting without feasting? Half the story.
Our grandparents didn’t “do IF.” They just lived — eating with daylight, stopping at sunset, letting the body rest overnight. No apps. No protocols. Just rhythm.
The magic of fasting only lands when what follows is a real meal.
My brunch after a 22-hour fast 👆
Rajma. Methi sabzi. Ghee rotis. Thick curd. Cucumber, walnuts and almonds.
This is what breaking a fast is supposed to look like — a feast, not a snack.
Eat for two — your taste buds and your gut bugs. be healthy. Be gutsy.
When your yoga sequence is 100% spontaneous!
No overthinking, no rigid plans—just combining a few favorite asanas (from Utkatasana to Skandasana) to see where the movement takes me. Every morning is a fresh chance to reinvent the old.
April showers? Never showed up in Mysore.
May decided to overcompensate with thunderstorms. And now we’re hearing about super El Nino and this year’s monsoons being inadequate.
Well. Okay then.
But this afternoon the clouds put on a whole show — silver linings, dramatic light, rays breaking through like someone up there was making a point. I grabbed my phone and just looked up.
Sometimes that’s enough, isn’t it? Just tilting your head back and catching what’s actually there.

This illustration is from my wellness memoir Gutsy.
Look at it. The body as machine. Organs as chambers. Pipes as neural highways. And right at the gut, in the centre — a gauge. Needle pointing somewhere between LOW and HIGH.
That gauge is your gut-brain axis. And for most people, it’s running hot.
I’m actually a private person. I know — hard to believe when you’ve watched me eat brunch and working out on your feed. 😌
But the private me and the public me speak the same language. Same values. Same convictions. No costume change depending on the room.
And I’ve been thinking about what it costs the body when that gap does exist.
We talk about cortisol triggers — bad sleep, poor food, no movement. But the chronic stress of performing different versions of yourself across contexts? That’s a stressor we almost never name.
When the two brains — head and belly — fall out of sync, the needle tips. The gut stops sending clear signals. The mind stops trusting them. And you lose the one thing that makes real decisions possible: honest, biological instinct.
The insomnia. The hormonal chaos. The mental load that doesn’t lift. Sometimes it’s not just what you’re eating.
It’s the weight of who you’re pretending to be.
In an age of AI and misinformation — when coherence can be faked — your internal alignment is not a personality trait.
It’s a health metric.
Real change starts with asking: do I actually believe what I’m saying right now?
Be healthy. Be gutsy.

“Exotic” vegetables. Desi technique. Same oil, same ginger-chilli toss my grandmother used for every sabzi.
The label changed. The wisdom didn’t.
Traditional Indian vegetarianism wasn’t an identity — it was a practice. 15-20 vegetables a week. Always rotating. Always seasonal. The variety was the medicine.
We kept the label. We lost the practice.
🌿 Rotate your vegetables. That’s it. That’s the gut health advice.
Be healthy. Be gutsy.
It’s orange. The floral dress. The lipstick. Both gifts from my bestie — my self-appointed stylist, and honestly, one of my most colourful teachers.
My personality wouldn’t have allowed this before her. Bright colours felt loud. And then orange acquired a different weight in this country — loaded, complicated. So I stayed away.
But today I decided to reclaim it.
Orange is warm. Orange is vibrant. Orange is Satya.
Today, I’m wearing a little bit of her.
I eat breakfast. Just at noon.
Sweet Potato & Parsi Akuri — same meal, smarter swap 🍠🥚
Can’t skip breakfast? Don’t. Just upgrade it.
The Real Way to Prevent Muscle Loss After 40 (No Heavy Lifting Required)
Preventing muscle loss as we age isn’t about lifting heavy or trying to look “buff.” It’s about a steady, daily commitment to two things:
1. Consistent protein intake
2. Move against resistance in whatever form suits your body
For a more in-depth analysis of how much protein is enough, I am conducting a workshop tonight. Feel free to join in on this important macro discussion.
Be healthy. Be gutsy.

I am a non-vegetarian and I make no bones about it. That was my brunch bowl a while ago. Pork from Coorg slow-cooked in its own fat with bamboo shoots, fresh green chillies, coriander and Axoni — a fermented soyabean and king chilli paste from Nagaland — sitting on a bed of Mullankaima rice from Kerala.
All food is good. That is not naivety. That is the foundation of a food ecosystem where everyone who participates in feeding us (farmers, livestock owners, farm tool makers, weather system handlers, packagers, transporters) can eat well too.
Harmony in a bowl. Harmony in a food system. Harmony begins with gratitude, not judgment.
