Cochlear implants prove not to limit the child’s progress only to listening and speaking but at Nagpur Audiology, we believe that every child should be led to meet his/ her own best potential to eventually integrate well in the society.

Recently, at Nagpur Audiology, we conducted a group activity in which older recipients of cochlear implants were involved in games and fun activity. These activities directed the child to reflect on aspects like social integration, self image, importance of support group and confidence in public speaking.

This session was led by Bianca Nazareth, who has special interest in coaching for personality of children with special needs as an additional facet to her otherwise varied qualifications. A special shout out to Dr Gauri Kapre Vaidhya for introducing us to our guest speaker

Giving access to hearing to children born with profound hearing loss with the help of a cochlear implant can be considered a big milestone shaping the future of deaf mutism by reversing the effects of hearing loss

Rushikesh was identified with hearing loss since birth and is using a Cochlear Implant since 2010 when he was 3 year old. He shared his experience on the change he feels with the use of 3 generations of sound processors, from a body worn device to this very recent recharagable Off the ear sound processor “Kanso” with improved noise cancellation technology and LE audio/ Auracast. Renowned Surgeons of the town were present amongst the audience for encouraging this boy who is going to appear for his board exams now, event hosted by led by Mrs Ish*ta Mandaviya, Audiologist and Speech Language Pathologist working in Nagpur city.
