In this process specially prepared warm medicated oil is kept on the lower back within a herbal paste boundary for 30 to 45 minutes. Abhyangam (14 - 21 Days):-
This is a special oil massage in which strokes are given according to the circulatory channels for 45 minutes per day, for a number of days, according to the disease. Udvarthanam (14 -28 Days):-
This treatment is a typical powder massage. In this procedure certain special herbal powders are applied to the body, by two therapists, in a particular way for about 30 to 45 minutes daily. Nasyam (7 - 21 Days):-
Nasyam is one of the most important procedures in Panchakarma. In this treatment herbal juices and medicated oils are applied through the nose. Snehapanam (8 -12 Days):-
This word literally means oral intake of medicated oils or ghee preparations. This is done as a therapeutic procedure and as a preparatory procedure during the body purification therapy. Medicated ghee or oils are given internally, in proportionally increasing quantities, for a period of 8 to 12 days
