Cervical cancer is the most preventable form of cancer. But what's still leading to an alarming number of deaths in India and LMICs is the disparity in access and adoption of avenues for early detection.
WHO is working to with its three pronged approach (Vaccine, Screening and Treatment), which we fully endorse.

There are 14 high risk HPV types and NO vaccine protects against all of them. So, while HPV Vaccine gives you a safety net, a different type can still visit you unannounced.
Periodic screening is a must.
Remeber, early detection is the first step towards reducing the risk of Cervical Cancer.

HPV is a slow and silent attacker. So, there are absolutely no signs or symptoms that show up immediately.
HPV takes about 10-15 years to develop into Cervical Cancer. Hence, the best way to stay safe is to keep your guards on, get screenings and catch HPV infection in pre-cancerous stage.
Cervical Cancer is one of the most preventable and treatable forms of cancer, so why take risk when you can stay safe?
