If you aren’t aligned with your clientele as a hairstylist or makeup artist, my encouragement to you is get REAL specific about your target audience. Your ideal client or bride. And show up for her!!! Start posting your face online. Flat-lays of your work no longer sells like it use to. You have to show your personality! Brides book based on KNOW, LIKE AND TRUST! Show up as you!! Do free work of styles you want to attract, host a styled shoot. Book a content day! Don’t take any client just because the Saturday is free! This is your business, you want to love your clients!

So no, I don’t. I have brides I simply ADORE! Like sweet Teagan! I’ll remember her wedding for a lifetime!!

Part 2. Destination weddings.
Sooo many of you have asked why I barely posted any videos of my time abroad doing weddings. This is the real reason.

Although these weddings were some of the most incredible experiences of my career. Hello, Iceland wedding!!!!! I was literally in awe and wonder the entire time. Some of the best trips ever. I remember gasping at my reality, I was abroad doing HAIR?!

Sadly, the wonder was taken away pretty quickly.
Like I said in the video, do I regret taking those 7 destination weddings? No. I learned SO much through that experience, and I truly believe it kickstarted a part of my business and exposed small-town me to a career that actually could be a reality. Being in this company made me dream BIG. That will always be something Cwac gave me.

Back in 2024, you might remember me announcing that I was now independent and moving. I shared that I was independent because of moving. The truth is, I was embarrassed. I was embarrassed that I had been naive enough to willingly walk into a situation that I eventually realized was not what I thought it was. But I didn’t know better at the time. Trust had been built over years.

A lot of you have also asked why it took me 2 years to share. There were so many reasons. I genuinely thought the business model might change. I have dear friends and family who were still working under her and, as far as I knew, weren’t having the same experience. I also really cared about the owner, and part of me struggled to separate the feelings I had for the person from what was happening financially. So I gave the benefit of the doubt.
There were also people I didn’t want to hurt financially waiting for their money if bankruptcy became a possibility. And honestly, part of me just didn’t want the drama. I wanted to quietly move on, build my own business from the ground up, and leave it behind.

But after dozens and dozens of brides began sharing their stories with me, I started to feel differently.
I believe firsthand experiences deserve to be shared. Not to create drama, but because people deserve to know the truth and make informed decisions for themselves.

So here is part 2 of the story.

It was the BEST job ever. I never had a reason to not trust this agency. But that’s kinda how a con works. I was scammed THOUSANDS of dollars between travelling & weddings worked starting in 2024 after years of exclusively working under her. Honestly my volenteer resume is top tier💀 I trusted this company, I respected and was inspired by her, we travelled internationally together, we quite literally built her business and her social media. I was ALL IN! The betrayal hurt more than the loss of money did! I suspended my services in September of 2024. The lies, gaslighting, manipulation, it was honestly incredible😳 I stayed quiet about it for years now, for so many reasons. Legalities, loved ones, fear of not getting paid back. But with everything coming to light, finally (screaming, crying throwing up😭) in this industry lately, I regret not sharing sooner. This has never been about drama, we are real people affected. Im literally just a mom! It’s one thing to mess with an independent contractor, like me. It’s another to mess with brides on one of the most meaningful days of their lives. This makes me physically ill. I could throw up at this injustice😭😭
