Iceland has a strong oral tradition that is both fantastical and practical as natural medicine has been handed down from generation to generation along with folk tales, legends and sagas. The Hrosshvalr, a creature of ancient Icelandic lore, has
thus fittingly been chosen as the symbol of our brand. The inspiration for this beautiful version of the classical hippocamp, a fierce folkloric fusion of horse and whale, is depicted in the late 16th century drawings on Abraham Ortelius' map of Iceland. A creature of both sea and land, the Hrosshvalr combines the elements of our product line and represents its strong ties to both country and tradition.
