Here the warm air of the Mediterranean is trapped by the Alps, and the hills tilt toward the sea at exactly the angle roses like.
In 1766, a Scottish writer passing through fell in love with the place and began sending these flowers across Europe. By the 1870s a railway linked Genoa to Marseille and the flowers of Liguria were suddenly reaching Paris, Vienna... anywhere with a market for beauty.
Roses became one of Italy’s most treasured exports, grown on terraced coastline that barely knows winter.
At the heart of Italian craftsmanship is thoughtful, high quality ingredients, and it’s this rose grown from this Italian coastline that we return to for our centifolia rose petal water.
