On July 21, 2025, a Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI training jet crashed into the Milestone College campus in Uttara, Dhaka, shortly after takeoff, causing a devastating fire and widespread panic. The crash killed so may people, mostly school children and teachers and injured over 160 others. The jet reportedly suffered a mechanical failure, and despite the pilot’s attempt to avoid a populated area, it struck a school building. Rescue teams, including firefighters and military personnel, responded rapidly, while the Bangladeshi government declared a national day of mourning. An investigation is underway, and the nation is in shock over one of the deadliest accidents involving a military aircraft in a civilian area.
