Your bridal look is YOURS. Not what Pinterest says it should be, not what a “how a bride should look” reel told you last week, not what some influencer said the “right” technique is.
There’s so much noise out there about what bridal makeup should look like:
How many layers you need for it to “photograph better,”
How much product it takes to survive your reception,
What it should look like up close versus through a camera lens..
I need you to hear this from someone who’s tested it over and over, on 250+ real brides, in Jamaica’s heat: half of that noise just isn’t true.
Light layers photograph beautifully. I’ve proven that time again. Piling on more product doesn’t make dimensions show up better, and it doesn’t make your makeup last longer either.
What actually gives you longevity is being intentional with every single layer, knowing exactly what your skin needs and stopping there.
So please don’t let anyone convince you your bridal makeup has to be heavy to hold up. It doesn’t. The most beautiful, longest lasting bridal looks I’ve ever done have always been the lightest.

A whole decade later and I still think about her.
