Double cleansing is more than a trend — it’s a professional skincare technique that, when done incorrectly, can damage the skin barrier instead of improving it.

What to know:

1️⃣ Oil-based cleanse → removes makeup, sunscreen, excess sebum
2️⃣ Water-based cleanse → removes sweat, dirt, and residue

When acids like, salicylics, are involved, timing, concentration, and frequency are critical.

If using acids:
Use low-strength acids (SA ≤2%, AHA ≤5%)

Limit frequency (2–4× weekly for most skin types)

Always follow with hydration + moisturizer

Sunscreen is mandatory when using acids
