Pug Cafe & Dog Salon Wan

An important update regarding Alto and Sakura (formerly known as Alt-Bayern and Berg). Due to their owner’s sudden illness, it has unfortunately become too difficult for them to continue looking after the dogs 😭We have decided that Sakura will be taken in for life by one of our Pug Cafe staff members, who is also the owner’s niece. Moving forward, Sakura will be officially joining us at work as a new Pug Cafe staff member! ☺️ As for Alto, there are currently no plans to look for a foster family 🙇‍♀️Alto's owner has been a dear friend of mine in the pug community for over 20 years. We will be waiting for them here at the Pug Cafe, holding onto the hope that they will recover soon and be able to spend time with Alto again!!

For those of you who know who the owner is, we kindly ask that you refrain from sending them direct messages, as they are currently focusing on their medical treatment and recovery 🙇‍♀️

Once they are well enough to join our gatherings again, let’s all get together, celebrate their recovery, and have a wonderful time chatting!😊

ぱぐかふぇ&ドッグサロンわん！ I’ve calmed down a bit now, so here is an update. Yukke, who was brought in on 7/9 because their owner said they didn't want him anymore 😢Yesterday, a visiting vet came to examine him. Heartworm negative 🙌　
Stool check and blood tests: No problems 🙆‍♀️
As for his heart, the vet heard a slight murmur through the stethoscope, so he is scheduled for a re-examination next week.

His ears are painful, so we plan to check them once the pain subsides. He was prescribed painkillers and antibiotics. Also...Around the beginning of this month, the former owner had taken him to an animal hospital for emergency care. I showed those test results and receipts to the vet. I also explained the condition Yukke was in when he first arrived.(Hundreds of dead fleas were still biting into his skin. There wasn't a single live flea. I asked if they had exterminated them at the animal hospital.) Then the vet looked at the receipt, and said there was no sign of flea treatment (no fee was charged), and that if a proper flea treatment had been used, the fleas wouldn't have died while still biting the skin..."They probably sprayed insecticide directly on Yukke, and brought him to the animal hospital after he collapsed from it."...That's what the vet said 😭😭😭

It was so completely unexpected that my mind just went blank 🫨I am so, so glad they gave him up...I am just so glad he is alive 😭Yukke... we will absolutely make sure you become happy, okay?

I know unexpected circumstances happen, and people can't always keep their pets. I’m always here to support and find solutions in those tough times.⁡ But a living soul should never be labeled as "unwanted."⁡ I don’t run this cafe for business. I do it to save lives and connect them to happiness. Every single penny of our revenue goes directly to our pugs. I truly pour my life and soul into protecting them every single day.⁡

Hey sweet boy, today you got a beautiful new name. Your name is Yukke 🐶 You are already surrounded by so much love now ☺️⁡ My staff and I will do everything to bring the smile back to Yukke’s face.

🐶Say hello to our sweet shop dog, Loin!

She recently came from a breeder in Kumamoto together with Grandpa Tofu ( ), a retired breeding dog.

She’s also Tebichi’s niece! Loin was born blind in one eye, but she doesn’t let that stop her—she’s the most energetic, happy girl ever!🤭

Instead of barking like a normal dog, she makes a funny "ab-ab-ab” sound.😂

We’ll be sharing profiles of our adoptable dogs soon, so please look forward to meeting them!

I’m Tebichi, the shop's mascot dog! 🐶
I was adopted from a family that could no longer keep me. I’m a bit of a mischievous boy! 🤭
After I was taken in, a breeder from Kumamoto contacted us saying, "That face looks like it might be from our bloodline." When we checked my pedigree papers, it turned out they were right—100%!Breeders are truly amazing! 🫢I’m actually Loin’s uncle ☺️.

My sister (formerly Momo) and my dad () have also been connected to new homes and are all living happily now ☺️.We’ll be introducing more dogs currently looking for foster parents soon!

🐶 Meet Clara, our shop dog 🐶Clara came to us from a family who, due to unavoidable circumstances, could no longer keep her. We welcomed her as our shop dog so that her previous owners can come and visit her anytime. That’s why we kept her original name, Clara. ☺️She gets so excited whenever they come to see her! ☺️ We hope they visit again soon.As a senior pug, she now takes daily medication for her heart, but she’s doing great and running around just like always! 😊 She also gets a monthly "Librela" injection for her joints. 🐶Clara loves being petted and, of course, treats! ☺️ She has such a gentle and calm soul. ☺️

She is a retired breeding dog and actually Tsumire’s grandmother! ☺️
She’s the oldest among our shop dogs.
Lately, she’s had some tummy issues, so I’ve been learning about medicinal cooking (Yakuzen) from a vet to make her special homemade meals.
I really want her to live a long, happy life!!!
She absolutely loves the cafe and wants to be here every day, so she has nearly perfect attendance! 👏

(She can have salmon dry food treats, so feel free to give her some! ☺️)

Even in her final days, Jamón has forgotten to eat or sleep, devoting herself entirely to Soki. Perhaps due to her dementia, she seems to mistake him for her own son, and caring for him has become her entire reason for living. Stay strong, Jamón. You are doing so well.🌿✨

We received a donation of ¥23,750. It will be used for the medical expenses of Chimu, a retired breeding dog who is scheduled for spay surgery this month. 🙇‍♀️

We will continue to do our best to lead as many pugs as possible to a happy life!
