SIGAND NYAKACH

The founder of Nyakach is called Oywa Ngori , He was given the name after Agolla son of Jok 3 mysteriously found a young lad trapped inside his fish trap along L. Albert in Uganda.

Agolla pulled him out and found that he had Langi dielect. It's believed he might have escaped from ongoing conflict in Langi of Uganda.

Agolla took him to his father's homestead where Jok named him Oywa Ngori and was adopted within Agolla house.

Later on Jok gave him his daughter Nyakach to marry. Being an in-law he migrated alongside Jok family during the migration to Kenya.

He first established his home at Yimbo some distance from Got Ramogi hills before moving to current Nyakach.

Note:
Ramogi clan is not part of Oywa Ngori descendants, they are part of Ramogi clan found in Yimbo , Padhola and majority still in Acholi land.
They were named Ramogi after there founder was born after the death of his father Ramogi who was also the father to Jok 3.

The current Ramogi found in Kenya are an offshoot of those who migrated along Jok migration, leaving majority in Acholi.

The leader of Jonyakach was called Oywa.... We're not sure if Oywa is the biological grand father of all Nyakach sub clans... IT'S NOT TRUE that Nyakach was a woman married to Oywa, Nyakach was a homestead near got Ramogi where the Nyakach people lived before migrating to the current land they occupy. Some of the dhoudi mag Nyakach are: koguta, kadianga, kabodho, kasae etc.

FACTS

Nyakach is made up of several clans namely koguta, jimbo ,dianga, kabodho,kandaria, migan and ramogi. These groups migrated into nyakach separately . Infact they intermary, meaning there is no relationship between the clans. Oywa in this case was a political leader of all these groups,and not a biological grandpa to all of them.

The late Ben Oluoch Okello's 5-hour morning program at Ramogi Fm was one of the finest if not the best due to the kind of musics that aired the waves during his time. His stream airing of Luo Benga genre was something on a top notch. The songs could make you travel from Mombasa to Sirare while seated, the songs could make you get out of the jam unnoticed. I guess it was at the peak of my formative years and whenever Kadongo songs sets in,it was time to wake up and I had to ready myself for school. That was the only alarm we had during those days.

Generally,Migori Super Stars gave Luo Benga enthusiasts a top-notch entertainment,they had a unique template that had set them apart with other bands. The energy in commendation "pakruok" was also on a whole other level that really dovetailed nicely with the rythm pulse.

Anyway, Kasongo wuod gi Ayiera was accomplished composer.
