Your nails should NOT burn in the lamp… if they do, something is wrong.”
My fellow nail techs gather 😂😂😂.what excuse do you normally give🤭??⁉️
Ever felt your nails burning in the lamp? Here’s what most nail techs won’t tell you.”Here are the real reasons it happens:
1. Thick Layers of Gel
When gel is applied too thick, the lamp has to cure more product at once.
During curing, the gel undergoes Exothermic Reaction — a chemical reaction that releases heat.
Result:
The thicker the gel → the more heat produced → the client feels burning.
Fix:
Apply thin layers and build structure gradually.
2. Damaged or Thin Nail Plate
If the natural nail is over-filed, thin, or damaged, the nail bed becomes sensitive.
So when curing starts, the heat travels directly to the nerves.
Common causes:
Over-buffing
Aggressive e-file use
Previous nail damage
Fix:
Prep gently and avoid thinning the natural nail.
3. High-Power Lamps
Strong lamps cure gel very fast, which increases the heat spike.
For example powerful lamps like the SUNUV SUN4 UV/LED Nail Lamp cure product quickly, which can cause sudden heat.
Fix:
Use low heat mode or have the client flash cure (in and out method).
4. Builder or Hard Gels
Thicker products like builder gel produce more heat during curing compared to regular gel polish.
Example products:
IBD Hard Builder Gel
Young Nails Builder Gel
These contain stronger photoinitiators that react quickly under UV/LED light.
Fix:
Apply thinner layers
Flash cure first before full curing.
5. Sensitive Clients
Some clients naturally feel heat faster, especially if they:
Bite nails
Have thin nail plates

✅ Nail Tech Trick:
If a client says “It’s burning!” tell them to pull their hand out for seconds, then place it back in the lamp. This breaks the heat spike.H
Why chrome nails fade.

Long hair is not the same as healthy hair.”
Some people are growing length and losing density.
Thin, dry, splitting hair down the back is not goals.
Thickness, shine, and strength matter more than inches.

I almost quit hair… not because I didn’t love it — but because I cared too much.
There was a day a client looked in the mirror… and stayed quiet.
No smile.
No excitement.
Just a polite “it’s okay.”
But I knew that look.
That’s the look that keeps stylists awake at night.
I replayed every step after she left.
Was the tone too warm?
Did I trim too much?
Should I have said no to the style she insisted on?
That night I realized something painful —
Sometimes clients don’t actually want what they ask for.
They bring Pinterest photos… but not their hair history.
They want blonde… but won’t mention box dye.
They want volume… but hate layers.
And when it fails… you carry the guilt.
So I changed.
I stopped trying to be the “yes stylist.”
I became the honest stylist.
I started saying:
“No, this will damage your hair.”
“No, your hair won’t behave like that texture.”
“No, today we treat — next visit we transform.”
I lost a few clients.
But the ones who stayed?
They trusted me more.
They relaxed in my chair.
They stopped chasing miracles… and started building healthy hair.
And that’s when my work actually became beautiful.
💭 Lesson: A good stylist gives the service requested. A great stylist protects the hair — even when it risks losing the client.
Have you ever had to say NO at work to do the right thing?Growth & mindset
You bought the cleanser.
You bought the serum.
You followed the routine perfectly.
So why is your skin still acting up?
Because nobody tells you this…
Sometimes it’s not your skin failing —
it’s your routine overwhelming it.
Most people don’t have bad skin.
They have too many products fighting each other.
Simple routine = calm skin.
Complicated routine = confused skin.
Be honest…
Are you healing your skin or stressing it?

💦 Sweat embarrassed me more than failure.
Not the normal kind.
The kind that shows up too fast. Too strong. Too noticeable.
The kind that makes you lift your arms carefully.
Choose dark clothes.
Avoid hugs.
I remember sitting in a crowded room…
heart beating fast…
praying no one could smell me.
Every laugh felt suspicious.
Every whisper felt personal.
It’s not just sweat.
It’s the fear of being judged.
No one talks about that part.
We act like hygiene struggles mean laziness.
Like you didn’t try hard enough.
Like you’re careless.
But sometimes it’s hormones.
Sometimes it’s stress.
Sometimes it’s anxiety making your body react.
And shame only makes it worse.
Here’s what changed everything for me:
I stopped hiding.
I started understanding.
I learned my triggers.
I drank more water.
I changed fabrics.
I carried wipes without shame.
I spoke to a professional instead of Google.
Sweat is human.
Odor is manageable.
Shame is optional.
You are not dirty.
You are not broken.
You are not alone.
Take control gently.
Care for your body without attacking it.
Confidence doesn’t come from never sweating.
It comes from knowing you can handle it.
🌿 Practical natural ways that helped me:
🌿 1. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)
It helps balance the skin’s pH and reduce odor-causing bacteria.
• Dilute with water (1:1)
• Apply to underarms with cotton at night
• Rinse in the morning
Do 2–3 times a week.
🌿 2. Baking Soda (use gently)
Absorbs moisture and neutralizes odor.
• Mix with a little water to form paste
• Apply lightly for 5–10 minutes
• Rinse off
⚠️ Not daily. It can irritate sensitive skin.
🌿 3. Lemon (for odor, not right after shaving)
Natural antibacterial properties.
• Rub a slice lightly
• Leave for a few minutes
• Rinse
Avoid if skin is broken.
🌿 4. Coconut Oil
Has mild antibacterial properties.
• Apply a thin layer after shower
• Can mix with a little cornstarch for absorption
🌿 5. Witch Hazel
Acts like a natural astringent.
• Dab onto clean skin
• Let dry before dressing

Everybody wants long-lasting nails…
But almost nobody wants the truth behind why theirs keep failing.
Here it is:
Most nail problems are NOT caused by cheap products.
They’re caused by habits clients refuse to change.
Yes… I said it.
People blame the glue.
Blame the nail tech.
Blame the brand.
But still soak hands in hot water for 40 minutes.
Still pick at lifting corners “just a little.”
Still use nails as tools to open cans, scratch labels, and peel stickers.
Then come back saying:
“Your work didn’t last.”
The uncomfortable truth?
Nails don’t lift randomly.
They slowly get forced off.
Retention is a partnership — not a purchase.
A perfect set applied on damaged, over-soaked, oil-coated nails will fail.
An average set on protected nails can last weeks.
The industry rarely says this loudly because it sounds harsh…
But durability depends more on aftercare than application.
And once you understand that, you stop searching for miracle glue and start changing behavior.
That’s the secret most people never hear.
