There is a moment every woman who is building something knows.

It’s not the launch. It’s not the applause.

It’s the moment you’re alone with the thing you said you’d do, and no one is watching, and you have to decide again whether you meant it.

I’ve had that moment in boardrooms.

I’ve had it at 5am with a sleeping child on one arm and a deadline in the other hand.

I’ve had it standing in front of a microphone, knowing the easy answer would please everyone, and the true one would please no one and choosing true.

Nobody claps for that moment. It happens in silence. But it is the only moment that actually builds anything.

So here is what I know, twenty years and two daughters into this life: your legacy is not built in the moments people see. It is built in the thousand private moments you decide, alone, to keep your word to yourself.

What is the promise you keep making to yourself in private? Keep it close! 🤎

We are living through a global crisis of trust.

This morning I was in a room with Regulators, Policymakers. Civil society leaders and Development partners.

All of them grappling, honestly, with a question that does not have a comfortable answer:

What does it actually take to earn back what has been lost?

Public trust is rebuilt in the small, unglamorous, unwitnessed moments when someone in a position of responsibility chooses accountability over convenience.

Over and over again, until people start to believe it will happen again tomorrow.

Public service is a call. How we answer it is our individual contribution to whether trust holds or breaks.

Proud to have moderated this conversation.

Challenged by it too, which is exactly how it should feel 🖤

Africa

Africa grows the cocoa. Europe makes the chocolate.

Africa grows the coffee. Europe roasts it.

The Nairobi Declaration from the Africa Forward Summit just named that problem at the highest level.

Whether the factories, cold chains, and financing follow is the only question that matters now.

New week. No apologies for what we’re about to go after.

Monday has a way of putting us face to face with what we actually want, not what looks good, not what makes sense on paper.

What we want.

Let’s go get it. 🖤

Happy Sunday, and Happy Father's Day to every man carrying that title with love.❤️

Today I am thinking about presence more than perfection. About fathers who show up tired, fathers who show up imperfect, fathers who show up anyway, because that has always mattered more than getting it all right.

I am also thinking about the fathers who are no longer with us, the ones whose absence still echoes in quiet moments, and the men who have stepped into that role for children who are not biologically theirs, simply because love asked them to.

And to the mothers who have had to be both, today is also gently for you, even if no card was ever written for that particular kind of love.❤️

Wherever you find yourself this Father's Day, I hope today brings you warmth, gratitude, and a little grace.

Happy Sunday, and Happy Father's Day.

Father’s Day can be a complicated day.

For those of us carrying memories instead of making phone calls, navigating the grief that never really goes away, instead of lunch plans, today can feel a little heavier.

I know that feeling.

There are some losses that time doesn’t erase.

You simply learn to carry them differently. And on days like today, you notice the empty chair, the missed conversation, the advice you wish you could still ask for.

So if you’re missing your dad today, be gentle with yourself.

Whether your grief is fresh or decades old, your love for them is still here.

And perhaps that’s what remains when everything else changes.

Thinking of everyone carrying that quiet ache today. ❤️

Woke up exhausted today. Not dramatic. Maybe a little burnt out. Just genuinely really tired.

Went to tennis yo try get the energy up, but still struggling.🥺

And I think a lot of people are carrying that kind of quiet exhaustion lately… the kind you push through because life still needs you to show up.

So if you’re like me, moving a little slower today, let’s be careful with ourselves. Not every tired person needs motivation.

Some of us just need a softer day.🤎

Wednesday.🤎

Take a deep breath, we are halfway there.

Wednesdays aren’t just a hurdle; they’re a checkpoint.

Pause, celebrate the small wins, and reset your intentions for the rest of the week.

I love Sundays because they’re a beautiful time to think and reflect.🤎

So, here’s a plan;

Pick a date. Right now. Don’t wait until you have a reason.

I just blocked off November 27th, a random Friday, six months from today and named it “Celebration Friday”.

No agenda. No conditions. Just a standing reservation for the version of me that kept going.

The wild thing? Having that date on the calendar changes how we show up everyday.

Book it. 📆

We will figure out what we are celebrating later. 🖤
