Watu wangu, I almost forgot to wrap up the series on how to choose a good team-building venue! I’ve been a bit up and about, but here we go
Day 7: ACCOMMODATION
For multi-day team-building sessions or retreats, accommodation is a key factor when choosing a venue.
Consider:
Capacity: Are there enough rooms for everyone?
Comfort: Are the rooms clean, safe, and restful?
Proximity: How close are the rooms to activity areas?
Alternative options: Some venues even provide tents, giving flexibility and a fun twist to overnight stays.
Having good accommodation ensures your team rests well, stays energized, and is ready to participate fully the next day.
In short: a venue with suitable accommodation keeps your team fresh, focused, and fully engaged—because well-rested teams perform better!
And that wraps up our 7-day series on choosing the perfect team-building venue. 🎉
Stay tuned for more tips to make your sessions fun, impactful, and unforgettable!

This is day 6 of our 7-day ensuring you get the best venue for your teambuilding and here we go:
Day 6: PAST EXPERIENCES & REVIEWS
Before settling on a venue, take time to look into past experiences and review, both your and of other's;they can save you from unpleasant surprises.
If other teams have used the venue before, find out:
✍️What was their overall experience?
✍️Were the facilities as promised?
✍️How was the food, service, and support from staff?
Reviews give you a real picture beyond the marketing.
Even better, if you’ve personally used the venue before, reflect on:
What worked well
What didn’t
What could be improved
Your own experience is often your best guide.
Positive feedback gives you confidence in your choice, while negative reviews help you prepare better or avoid costly mistakes altogether.
At the end of the day, a venue may look perfect on paper—but experience is the true test.
Stay tuned for Day 7
We are day 5,ensuring that you get the best venue for your teambuilding and here we go:
Day 5: BUDGET
When choosing a team-building venue, your budget plays a key role in the decisions you make.
You’ll find that pricing varies widely:
Some venues charge around 800 per person, others 3,500 per person (or even more), and many options in between
Some venues charge an additional fee per person specifically for team-building activities
Others only require you to purchase food, and you can use their grounds at no extra cost.
Remember distance from your workplace will directly affect how much you spend
At the end of the day, your choice should align with what you’re willing and able to spend.
While higher prices often come with better facilities, service, and overall experience, that’s not always the case,so it’s important to look at the value you’re getting, not just the price tag.
Choose wisely 😉

Watu wangu,I promised to help you get a good venue for your teambuilding by giving you 7tips in seven days today we are in day 4,lets go;
FOOD & CATERING
Honestly… this should have been number 1
Whenever I ask teams what they’re looking forward to in the beginning of our sessions, one answer is almost guaranteed:
👉 “Kukula!”
And really, who doesn’t want good food-especially on a special team day?
As a team leader, make sure the venue you choose is known for:
✓Quality food
✓Enough portions (very important!)
Also, note: Some venues allow external catering, while others don’t,so be sure to confirm this in advance if you have a preferred caterer.
👉 Great food keeps the energy up, boosts morale, and makes the experience even more memorable.
Because let’s be honest… a team that eats well, participates well

Day 3 is here,we are talking about considerations to make when choosing a teambuilding venue
Day 3: WEATHER CONSIDERATIONS
When planning a team-building session, always think about the weather especially during seasons when rain is likely.
Before settling on a venue, ask yourself:
Do they have a reliable indoor space we can use if the weather changes?
I once facilitated a session for a bank team where it started raining heavily before they even arrived. Unfortunately, the venue had no proper backup, just a small shade we used after the rain stopped. I did my best with what we had, but I know the team would have achieved much more with a better setup.
Always choose a venue with flexible options.

We’re on Day 2 of our 7-day series, where I’m sharing key factors to help you choose the perfect team-building venue—one each day.
Day 2: LOCATION & ACCESSIBILITY
When choosing a team-building venue, always consider your team’s timing and convenience.
If your session is planned for later in the day, like Saturday afternoons after work (common with bank teams) it’s wise to choose a venue that is not too far from the workplace. This helps everyone arrive on time and with the right energy.
Also, be mindful of:
Distance
Road conditions
Traffic
Ease of directions
A venue that is far, hard to access, or confusing to locate can leave your team drained before the activities even begin and that affects your overall goals.
On the flip side, choosing the same obvious venue repeatedly can reduce excitement. The experience starts to feel routine, and some team members may even lose interest in attending.
👉 The goal is to find a balance:
A venue that is easy to access, yet fresh and engaging for your team.

This week, I want to help you choose the perfect venue for your team-building sessions.
Over the next 7 days (starting today), I’ll share 7 key factors you need to consider-one each day.
Let’s get started 👇
1. CAPACITY
Always consider the size of your team when choosing a venue.
Go for a space that can comfortably accommodate everyone without feeling crowded. Remember, team-building activities often require more space than a typical sit-down meeting;especially for movement, interaction, and group dynamics.
A good venue should give your team room to engage, move, and fully participate.
Stay tuned for Factor #2 tomorrow 😉

Whenever I take my children out, especially to a new place,my first stop is usually the administration office. From there, I quickly check out the open field (if they have one) and find out whether they host groups for team building before we even settle down to the business of the day.
Why? Because even in my parenting moments, my business mind is always alert. I’m always looking out for new venues that could give my clients more options for fun and impactful team-building experiences
I wonder if my children realize that their “outing with mum” occasionally doubles up as my venue familiarization tour. 😄
But truth be told, I’m always intentional about their time out—and grateful that these little adventures also help me grow my work.
Who else finds themselves mixing parenting with business opportunities? 😊
