The Thai military’s aggression against Cambodia has included the use of heavy artillery that damaged Buddhist temples, the bombing of Ta Krabei Temple and Preah Vihear Temple, and, most recently, the destruction of a statue of the god Vishnu. These sites are sacred places of worship and spiritual significance for , , and followers of other faiths. For the true custodians of this heritage, witnessing such devastation brings profound sorrow and anguish beyond comparison. Those who are not the rightful owners, however, have shown no compassion for these religious structures or for the cultural and spiritual heritage they embody. They cheered and applauded while deliberately destroying and desecrating these sacred places of worship and religious faith.

As a Cambodian, I stand for the safety of civilians, stability in the region, and the importance of peaceful dialogue. I hope the global community pays attention and encourages negotiations to prevent further loss, protect innocent lives, and maintain peace in Southeast Asia.

Cambodian authorities are investigating a r**e complaint which was filed by an 18-year-old returning migrant worker. She alleges that she was r***d by a group of Thai soldiers in black uniforms as she and a group of workers crossed the border into Cambodia on the night of November 15.
