Korean skincare is less about a fixed 10-step routine and more about a layering philosophy: thin to thick textures, low to high pH, and always sealing hydration with moisturizer.

Here’s the correct order to use the most common products:

1. Oil Cleanser (PM only)
Apply to dry face, massage gently, then emulsify with water. Removes sunscreen and makeup without stripping skin.

2. Water Cleanser (PM) / Gentle Cleanser (AM)
Use a low-pH foam or gel to remove any residue. (In the AM, many just splash water or use a mild cleanser.)

3. Exfoliator (1-2x per week, PM)
Skip this step on other nights. Use a gentle physical scrub or chemical (AHA/BHA) after cleansing.

4. Toner
Pat in with hands or a cotton pad. Look for hydrating, not astringent, toners. This preps skin to absorb the next layers.

5. Essence
The heart of K-beauty. Press a few drops into damp skin. It boosts hydration and targets concerns like dullness or fine lines.

6. Serum/Ampoule
Concentrated treatment (vitamin C, niacinamide, peptides). Apply a few drops and pat until absorbed.

7. Sheet Mask (1-3x per week, PM)
Leave on for 10-20 min, then pat in leftover essence. No need to rinse.

8. Eye Cream
Tap a small amount around the orbital bone (not on the lash line) using your ring finger.

9. Moisturizer
Lotion for oily/combo skin; cream for dry skin. This seals everything in.

10. Sunscreen (AM, every day)
Last step in the morning. Use 1/4 tsp for face. Reapply if you're outside.

Key Tips:

· Wait times: Only needed for vitamin C (2-3 min) or prescription retinoids. Otherwise, apply each product as soon as the previous one is absorbed (about 30 seconds).
· Pat, don’t rub: Tapping motions increase absorption and reduce irritation.
· Start simple: Cleanse → Moisturize → Sunscreen (AM). Add one new product every 2 weeks.
· Listen to your skin: Oily skin may skip cream after essence; dry skin may add a facial oil after moisturizer.

The magic isn't the number of steps—it's the gentle layering of hydration.
