Her Excellency Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, the Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia

The Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia wishes to inform the general public and the international community as follows:

On the morning of September 25, 2025, the official Webpage of the Royal Thai Army and some Thai media outlets reported that "Cambodia caused disturbances throughout the night in the Army Area 2," alleging that there were sounds of gunfire, explosions, and the approach toward the barbed wire area, as well as shooting to estimate the distance.

The Ministry of National Defense wishes to clarify that:
Cambodian forces did not initiate provocations or conduct any activities that violate the ceasefire agreement, as alleged by the Thai side.
According to the confirmation by the Cambodian forces positioned at the frontline, the following incidents were reported as follows:

• At 2:57 AM on September 25, 2025, one shot of gunfire was heard from the Thai side.
• At 5:00 AM, another shot of gunfire was heard from the Thai side.
• At 6:00 AM, a shot of gunfire was heard from the Thai side.
• At 7:00 AM, a shot of gunfire was heard from the Thai side.

In this sense, the Cambodian armed forces reiterate its commitment to fully respecting and implementing the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, with firm and resolute determination, in line with the strong commitment to cooperate at all levels. To emphasize, Cambodia has consistently maintained good cooperation, particularly the Cambodia-Thailand Communication teams at the frontline, which have been actively engaged in fostering good communication through regular exchanges of information and clarifications to prevent unnecessary tensions.
