🔴 Artist Collaboration at BORNTOSTANDOUT® Seongsu : Greem Jeong

Seoul based artist Greem Jeong ( ) draws with lines that step off the page and into real space.
Trained in object and spatial design at ESAD de Reims in France, she takes ordinary industrial materials, the kind usually hidden inside walls, and bends them into long, flowing lines. What begins as a simple drawing becomes something you can walk around, sit beside, or look up at. Her work moves freely between sculpture, furniture, and installation, never settling into one category.

For BORNTOSTANDOUT® Seongsu, she carries the brand’s signature red out of the bottle and into the room itself. Red is not used here as a color on a surface. It becomes the entire mood of the space. It carries the feeling of stepping outside the rules, of moving freely, of refusing to stay inside the lines.
Lines stretch across the flagship in unexpected directions. They cross, tangle, and float overhead, moving the way scent moves through air, never in a straight path, never fully held in place. Through repetition, flow, and quiet tension, the work turns fragrance into something you can see and walk through.

Held together in a single red, the installation carries the boldness and the defiant spirit of BORNTOSTANDOUT®. Visitors do not stand in front of the work. They step inside it. Scent, line, and energy meet here as one continuous experience.

🔴 Artist Collaboration at BORNTOSTANDOUT® Seongsu : Jongjin Park

Ceramic artist Jongjin Park ( ) builds surfaces the way geological time builds strata.
He brushes porcelain slip onto single sheets of paper, layers them by the hundreds, and compresses them into dense blocks. Fired at high temperature, the paper burns away and only the porcelain remains.

What is left is then carved open by hand, revealing fractured edges, exposed interiors, and sediment like textures that hover between ceramic object, excavation, and architectural fragment. His work belongs to the tradition of trompe l’oeil in clay, where one material wears the skin of another, and the eye is asked, again and again, what is real.

For BORNTOSTANDOUT® Seongsu, he translates the signature red of the brand into a physical experience inside the flagship.

The work begins from the dense, intense character of BORNTOSTANDOUT® EXTRAIT EXTRÊME. The density of the fragrance is rendered into the density of matter, layer upon layer, the way scent accumulates in the air.

Red was not approached as a color. It was treated as a material with depth. Through small shifts in brightness, saturation, and pigment density across layers, the red transforms with light, texture, and angle of view. The result is not a single red, but a stratum of reds.

Created specifically for the Seongsu flagship, the work embeds the artist’s signature Patch structures into the surfaces of the tasting tables, then carves them partially open. This is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Korean inlay technique known as sanggam, and it gives the space a new sense of weight and presence.

Through scent, color, and material, the identity of BORNTOSTANDOUT® meets the artistic practice of Jongjin Park. This collaboration is where the two coincide.

CRÈME COCO
Inspired by coconut panna cotta with vanilla bean. Coconut at its most concentrated, sweet without trying, rich without effort.

Top Notes: Fresh coconut water, yuzu, kaffir lime
Heart Notes: Coconut cream absolute, condensed milk, jasmine sambac, white tea
Base Notes: Tahitian vanilla bean, sandalwood, rice powder, white musks

Coconut panna cotta in its most pure, most concentrated form. The opening is clean and light, a breath before the richness takes over. Then the cream hits. Thick, sweet, and deeply concentrated, the way coconut gets when everything unnecessary has been stripped away and only the richness remains. Condensed milk thickens the heart into something heavier and slower. The base is warm vanilla bean and sandalwood, sweet and warm, never quite leaving.
