Some people may not be familiar with the fact that olive oil making is seasonal in nature which meant that we were left with 8 work-free months. Soap-making soon became our focus during the previously unprofitable months as a direct extension of our olive oil mill thus turning the unprofitable months into fruitful ones. It took several years to perfect the art of soap making and develop the perfect bar of soap. We have been inspired and passionate about traditional methods for soap-making while adding a little twist every now and to refine shapes and scents. The result, the current Khawabi Abboud soap, is an aromatic one with a smooth and silky texture that moisturizes rather than dries the skin, and above all, is effused with the best natural oils. Ingredients
Using careful essential oil blends, natural oils and nature’s pantry, we have lovingly created a range that moisturizes and nourishes the skin. Our soaps are made from pure olive and laurel oils, which are the basic natural oil ingredients, to ensure that the mix is perfectly smooth before it goes to be pressed. Antioxidant-rich olive oil is the ideal ingredient to fight dry skin and eczema and is also good for aging skin because of the vitamin A and E it contains. As for Laurel oil, it helps with hair growth and fighting dry skin and eczema as well. Other natural oils such as almond, avocado, coconut and castor oils are also used in the soap-making process. The essential oils used are amber, musk, lavender, rose, orange blossom, gardenia, jasmine, pine, and oud. Our latest natural ingredient that has been added to our formula is the Honey-propolis-bee wax which is the main ingredient used in the honey-propolis-bee wax soap bar. This new soap has been added to our line of products and contains the natural healing properties of honey, along with the bee propolis extract, which is best known for its antibiotic effects. The whole process is 100% handmade starting from making, cutting, stamping, wrapping and potential designing. Hand-made soap crafts can be made to order, with custom designs for different events and functions. Concerning the size of the soap bars, a variety of shapes and sizes are available depending on the customer’s taste. Evolution
In 2002, our soap making hobby turned into a small business when we started supplying Audi Museum with “baladi” soap, what is known as traditional soap. We started out small, selling our lovely handmade soaps at farmers’ markets and to kind neighbors… From there, our catalog began to grow, our offerings become more creative, and with this momentum on our side, we are excited for what the future holds for us at Khawabi Abboud.
