Learning to live a non-inflammatory lifestyle should be tackled in schools by teachers not by doctors in clinics. Primary care in authentic Asian medical practice is placed in a teaching not treating context. It is with authentic Asian SECONDARY care that treatment is first mooted, and then to help help re-balance the imbalance in the inflammatory activity that underlies chronic disease. Sadly, Asian medicine has been distorted in its Western incarnation. Bio-medicine comes into its own with tertiary care, which ignores the bodies innate healing abilities (burying them in the denial tagged as "placebo") and goes in there and does the job itself. The fruits of treating tertiary care as primary care is borne out in the statistics: 2001 figure for the outcome of prescription medicine, nearly a million dead. WOW!
