Students Learn Under Leaking Roofs as Tubmanville E, J & SHS Battles Deplorable Conditions.

TUBMANVILLE CITY, Lower Kpanyan District- What was expected to be a moment of excitement and pride at Tubmanville Elementary, Junior, and Senior High School quickly turned into a scene of disappointment of students learning condition. A visit to the institution in Electoral District #1, Sinoe County, revealed students struggling to learn in classrooms flooded by rainwater due to severe structural leakages and deteriorating facilities.

This situation has been described a disturbing learning environment where the county’s future leaders sat on wet benches, with books and notebooks soaked, as water dripped continuously from damaged ceilings. Teachers reportedly did their best to continue lessons, but the conditions made teaching and learning nearly impossible during rainfall. Many described the situation as heartbreaking and unfit for any child.

The irony is not lost on community members. Golden Veroleum Liberia, a major concession company, occupies an estimated 50% of the land in the area. Yet children from the host community of Tartweh attend classes under leaking roofs without adequate desks, windows, or protection from the elements. Residents say this stark contrast reflects years of neglection by both government and corporate stakeholders.

This raises a painful question: what wrong have the people of Tartweh committed to deserve this treatment? This question have been asked by community dwellers . We are Liberians. Our children deserve better from the national government, the county caucus, and the companies operating on our land. The community is now demanding accountability for what they call a clear failure of duty to provide basic educational infrastructure.

Responsibility for the crisis, locals say, rests with multiple actors the Ministry of Education, the Sinoe County Administration led by Superintendent Hon. Alexander Nah sleweon, District #1 Representative Hon. Thomas Romeo Quioh, Senators Augustine S. Chea and Senator Crayton Oldman Duncan, and Golden Veroleum Liberia. Community leaders argue that every institution benefiting from Sinoe’s resources must invest in the welfare of Sinoe’s children.

In response, CDILL – Community Development Insight of Lawmaker Liberia are appealing for urgent intervention. The organization calling on county leaders, meaningful Sinoeans, NGOs, and donors both at home and in the diaspora to support immediate renovation of the school’s roofing, classrooms, and learning materials. “Our children cannot wait, and the future of Sinoe cannot wait,” the appeal stated.

St. Paul Episcopal Parish High School of Sinoe County has been eliminated from the 2025/2026 National High School Championship following a penalty shootout defeat to Buchanan Open Bible High School.

The match, played at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex, ended in a 1–1 draw after regulation time, leading to penalties where St. Paul Episcopal Parish High School was unable to secure victory.

Despite the result, the team demonstrated strong determination, discipline, and teamwork throughout the competition, proudly representing Sinoe County on the national stage.

The management of St. Paul Episcopal Parish High School extends sincere appreciation to the players, coaching staff, and supporters for their commitment and dedication during the championship.

Although the team’s journey in this year’s tournament has come to an end, the experience gained will serve as a foundation for future growth and success.

HON. TOLBERT NYENSWAN DONATES 35,000 LD TO ST. PAUL EPISCOPAL PARISH HIGH SCHOOL

Monrovia, Liberia – March 24, 2026

Hon. Tolbert Nyenswan has generously donated 35,000 Liberian Dollars (LD) to St. Paul Episcopal Parish High School in support of the institution’s participation in the ongoing National High School Championship in Monrovia.

The donation comes as the school proudly represents Sinoe County on the national stage, demonstrating excellence, discipline, and commitment in academic and sporting activities.

The financial contribution was officially received by the Principal of the school,
Mr. Alex Gull, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Nyenswan for his timely and meaningful support. He noted that the donation will greatly assist the team and school authorities in meeting essential needs during the competition.

Hon. Nyenswan’s gesture highlights his continued commitment to youth development and education in Sinoe County. His support serves as motivation for the students to perform with pride and determination as they compete among the best schools across the country.

ST. Paul Episcopal Parish High School Kickball Team of Sinoe County has successfully advanced to the next stage of the National High School Championship after securing a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Sumo Memorial Institute of B**g County.

The exciting encounter took place at the SKD Sports Pitch in Paynesville, where both teams displayed determination and competitive spirit throughout the match. St. Paul Episcopal Parish High School demonstrated resilience and teamwork, ultimately emerging victorious with a narrow win.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for the team and brings pride to Sinoe County as they continue their journey in the championship. Supporters and well-wishers remain hopeful as the team prepares for the next stage of the competition.
