Hon. Melton Yoko to Host Eight Community Tournaments in District #6

A passionate community advocate and prospective candidate for the 2029 Representative election, Hon. Melton Yoko, will host an Eight-Community SKD Tournament at the SKD Mini Pitch from July 4–12, 2026.

The tournament champions will receive a cash prize of LRD 40,000 along with a trophy, while the runners-up will receive certificates. The tournament's highest goal scorer will be awarded one bag of rice, and all other award winners will also receive certificates in recognition of their outstanding performances.

To encourage participation, each of the eight communities involved in the competition will receive LRD 5,000 as a participation fee.
The tournament aims to unite residents across District #6 through sportsmanship, promote peaceful interaction among young people, and strengthen community development through sports.

Hon. Melton Yoko believes this initiative is one of the best ways to bring together the youth and elderly residents of the district, fostering unity, cooperation, and a shared vision for progress.

Breaking News 🇱🇷⚽

The Lone Star's newly appointed head coach, Mohammed A. Erradi, experienced his first test at the Southern Arena in Sierra Leone, where Liberia suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat in an international friendly.

Despite the result, this match marks the beginning of an important journey as Coach Erradi works to build and prepare the national team for the road to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualification. With a second friendly against Sierra Leone still to come, the coaching staff will have another opportunity to assess the squad, make adjustments, and continue laying the foundation for the future.

All eyes remain on Coach Erradi as he takes charge of the Lone Star and seeks to restore confidence and competitiveness within the national team. Liberian supporters remain hopeful that his leadership, vision, and tactical approach can guide the squad toward a successful AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign.

The defeat may be a setback, but it is only the first step in a long process. The hope of the Liberian people remains alive, and many will be eager to see how the team responds in the next match.
