An other option to make a winged liner, is to use a matt (brown or black it's up to you) eyeshadow and create a wing as it is shown in the picture.
For some looks I personally prefer this method. It is softer than a normal eyeliner, so the focus is on your eyehadow and not just on the wing.

Soft eyelook and red lips....perfect for Day&Night!
- take a natural skin-colored shadow and place it all over the lid
- use a light brown color in the crease and blend it well
- darken the outer V with a darkbrown and again...blend it well!!
- put on a winged liner and some mascara
- now you can put some false lashes on, but that's not a must.
- dip your lips in a beautiful red, and you're good to go.
IMPORTANT:
Make sure to use eyeshadows litlle by little and blend between the steps. Thats how you can build up the color and receive a professional eyelook.
