'SMELLING FINE ALL THE TIME WITH JEFF PINE'

I make and sell 100% natural deodorants. Made from food-based ingredients and essential oils. These deodorants not only leave you smelling fresh all day long but they also nourish your body with the unique properties of each ingredient!

My deodorants contain zero chemicals and I do not use bicarbonate of soda, like many natural deodorants do, as it is an irritant for the skin over prolonged use.

My deodorants are made from a base of coconut oil, shea butter, almond oil, beeswax, arrowroot powder, white argilla clay and vit E oil (which acts as a preservative!) and various essential oils for fragrance.

If you would like to treat you, and/or your loved one(s), this festive season to some of my carefully crafted natural, homemade deodorant please send me a DM or leave a comment below and I will give you all the details you need.

If you appreciate this post and want to support me, and my products, please like and share this post
πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

P.S. I'm also selling a his&hers box set containing one man's deodorant, one woman's deodorant and a nourishing hand/body cream!

P.P.S. The essential oils (E.O.) used in the man's deodorant are cedarwood, lavender, vetiver and sandalwood. And the E.O.s used in the woman's deodorant are geranium/rose, tangerine, chamomile and ylang-ylang.

P.P.P.S. For now sales are limited to the tiny island of Malta (I might be willing to include Gozo, if you ask nicely πŸ˜‰)

-- DIY NATURAL HEALING HAND AND FACE LOTION, HIGHLY NOURISHING & HYDRATING --

Recipe below!

This hand lotion is perfect for dry, cracked, damaged hands that have had a rough time this winter (or summer for that matter!)

This nifty recipe can be whipped up (literally) in less than 20mins!

Ingredients:
β€’ 2 tablespoons (30g) Shea Butter
β€’ 2 teaspoons (10g) Jojoba Oil
β€’ 1 teaspoon (5g) Wheatgerm/Vit E Oil
β€’ 2 teaspoons (10g) Arrowroot Powder
β€’ 2 teaspoons (5g) Aloe Vera gel (99.9% pure)
β€’ 5 drops of Sweet Orange Essential Oil

Directions:
β–ͺ︎Using a hand mixer, mix the shea butter for a few minutes, I like to leave my shea butter in a warm place for a few mins for ease of mixing. Make sure it looks fluffy before proceeding.

β–ͺ︎Then add the jojoba oil and vitamin E oil. Mix it for a few minutes until all the ingredients are mixed well.

β–ͺ︎Add the arrowroot powder a little at a time and mix it in ensuring it's not grainy.

β–ͺ︎Then add the Aloe Vera gel. Mix it a bit more until it feels like a fluffy, soft lotion (see photo below) and voilΓ  your own homemade, natural, hydrating hand lotion!

€20 worth of liquid hand soap made with approximately 35c worth of soap!

Liquid soap is one of the easiest and cost-effective DIY cleaning products you can make πŸ˜‰

For a family of four this is probably a saving of €120 a year πŸ’ͺ

While the €€$$ savings are fantastic, you can't put a price on the chemical savings! With this natural liquid soap you avoid using the harsh chemicals found in most store bought liquid soap brands! 🀩🀩

Please like and share if you found this useful 😍 and leave a comment if you have any questions. I'd be more than happy to help you out 😁😁😁

DIY HEALING/HYDRATING SALVE

I always get excessive dry hands in the winter months and I used to blame it on the change of weather πŸ₯Ά

While this may be true to some extent it is not the main reason (read till the end of the post to find out the real reason) 😏

For a years I tried store-bought/pharmacy-bought hydrating creams only to find them painful when applied to my often cracked skin (follow this page to find out why commercial cosmetics cause reactions in people☣) (ok, the emoji is a tad extremeπŸ˜‰)

Here is my recipe for treating dry, cracked, malnourished skin. This is ideal for hands, knees, feet and even face. I recommend using this oil on the feet at bedtime as your feet will slide inside your socks as you walk around and will feel uncomfortable in your shoes πŸ‘ πŸ‘Ÿ

Same goes for the face, as this is quite oily I recommend using at night only. Like this page to stay updated on my DIY facial lotion which I will publish soon 😁😁

Ingredients:
β€’ 2TBSP (30g) shea butter
β€’ 2TBSP (60g) coconut/argan/jojoba oil (20g/20g/20g)
β€’ 1TBSP (15g) beeswax
β€’ 2t (10g) raw, local (where possible) honey
β€’ 10 drops Lavender essential oil (E.O.)
β€’ 5 drops Roman Chamomile E.O.
β€’ 4 drops Tea Tree E.O.
β€’ 4 drops Geranium/Rose E.O.

Method:
β–ͺ︎Set a Pryex pouring jug over a small pot of boiling water (bain marie) and melt solid ingredients first (shea butter and beeswax, then the honey).
β–ͺ︎When solid ingredients are liquefied add the oils (coconut/argan/jojoba)
β–ͺ︎Take off heat and allow to cool for a few mins (3 or 4) before adding E.O.'s and Vit. E
β–ͺ︎Pour, the still, liquid mixture into a suitable container/s

While it is very difficult to say the true expiration date of DIY cosmetics, you can be assured that (when using fresh ingredients) DIY cosmetics containing no water can easily last up to a year.

I'm trying to keep these posts as short as possible. I will be going in depth into the properties of each ingredient in future posts πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ

Note: This is a rather oily cream and a little goes a long way, so use sparingly.

P.S. As promised, the real reason for my dry skin in the winter months...

For 99.9% of humans existence we lived in a state of lack and these winter months were often long, inhospitable and with less food to consume than during the rest of the year.

This meant that, as a species, we would gorge on as many calories as possible before winter arrived which would, hopefully, build up fat reserves for the cold months 🍞πŸ₯–πŸ₯“πŸ—

Well, our brains/bodies are still hardwired in this way and nowadays we have easy access to an abundance of food. We also have access to an abundance of sugary food nowadays and sweet foods were the foods (when hunting and gathering) that were, generally, safe to eat. For example berries and fruits πŸ‡πŸ’πŸŽπŸ“

A lifetime of consuming sugary foods has brought me to this point. I consider refined sugar the most dangerous drug on the planet and it is also the most addictive 🍚

As young children, in the Western world anyway, we are generally given sweet things "for being good". This reinforces of subconscious with 'rewarding' ourselves with sweet treats even long into adulthood 🍬🍭🧁

I will go deeper into this topic in later posts.

Thanks for reading and I hope you get the chance to make and use this recipe, if you do let me know how you get on in the comments πŸ€™

First batch of my fantastic all natural deodorant for 2019 are now available for order.

All deodorants are made to order, guaranteeing optimum freshness.

Jeff Pine makes cosmetics for the discerning customer who is aware of what they put into and onto their bodies.

My deodorants are made from completely natural, food-grade ingredients.

These are unisex but some scents are more masculine and feminine, therefore I have labelled them 'men'/'women'.

At the moment I have the men's blend at the ready.

The deodorants all have the same base and different essential oils changing the fragrance.

Ingredients are (in order of highest volume to lowest) fractionated (liquid) coconut oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil, beeswax, arrowroot powder, kaolin (white argila) clay, vit E oil (acts as a natural preservative).

Essential oils for the man's blend are sweet orange, vetiver, patchouli, rose/geranium.

This is an uplifting blend where the musky, woody, masculine notes of vetiver are complimented by the sweet/musky scent of patchouli (a fragrance that, personally, I can't stand on its own but when paired with certain oils it becomes very complimentary). The sweet orange and rose/geranium give a nice balance to the two former musky scents.

This is my latest experiment with a new fragrance and has been a big hit so far!!!

Complete DIY recipe coming soon so be sure to like my page to stay informed.

Essential Argan Face Moisturiser
My Essential Argan Face Moisturiser oil is made with pure Argan oil and essential oils of carrot seed, sea buckthorn seed and lavender which are all known for their fantastic skin nourishing properties.

Argan oil has an especially strong nutty aroma and Essential Argan is no exception. The essential oils used in this blend aren't necessarily known for their strong scents (with the exception of lavender) and were specially selected for their supreme skin nourishing properties.

Upon first application of Essential Argan the nutty aroma may be overpowering but it subsides as soon as the oil is absorbed into the skin, which is usually less than a minute.

Argan Oil
Argan Oil is native to Morocco, where it is known as 'liquid gold', it is an optimum skin moisturiser as it hydrates and softens the skin.

Skin moisturiser
It has a high fatty acid and Vitamin E content (making it a natural anti-oxidant).

It absorbs quickly, is non-greasy and non-irritating making it the ideal natural moisturiser for all skin types.

Dry skin conditions
This was the main reason I started using argan oil as I suffer from dry, flaky skin. People who suffer from dry, itchy, flaky skin benefit immensely from using argan oil.

The Vit. E and fatty acids in argan oil are ideal for repairing damaged skin and provide it with vital nutrients preventing further dryness and irritation (although the root cause of damaged skin is usually lack of proper hydration and/or poor nutrition/too much alcohol/refined sugars, this should be addressed first and foremost).

Argan Oil is optimum for soothing skin and only a small amount is needed to provide relief and encourage healing of damaged skin.

Acne
Many oils and moisturisers can exacerbate skin conditions like acne, but argan oil soothes afflicted skin and promotes healing.

Acne is usually the result of oily skin. Argan is a non-greasy oil and helps to balance oily skin by providing natural moisture. The anti-oxidant properties of the Vit. E contained in argan oil helps heal damaged skin cells and reduce inflammation.

Stretch Marks
Stretch marks are a concern for most pregnant women, especially so for second and third pregnancies, but argan oil is fantastic for protecting against stretch marks and sagging skin after child birth. Argan oil increases skin elasticity due to its high Vit. E content.

Ideally the oil should be used during and after pregnancy. Rubbing a few drops of argan oil into stomach, breasts, bottom and thighs during and after pregnancy will greatly reduce the likelihood of developing unsightly stretch marks. This fantastic oil is also ideal for keeping skin and hair hydrated and healthy during pregnancy.

Carrot Seed Oil
Carrot seed oil is a prized ingredient in top facial creams, balms and oils mainly for its anti-aging properties.

Carotol
Carrot Seed oil is high in carotol (40%). Carotol is said to be brightening and rejuvenating which is why carrot seed is used in facial creams and oil blends.

Vitamins E and C
Carrot seed oil is also high in Vit. E and C making it a natural antioxidant, moisturiser and protector and, thanks to these vitamins, it is believed to be good for aging issues like wrinkles.

Skin Balancing Properties
Carrot Seed oil is good for all skin types. It has the ability to balance any skin type, be it oily or dry skin.

Seabuckthorn Oil
Seabuckthorn oil is said to contain over 200 nutrients and is one of the leading natural ingredients in anti-aging remedies.

Vitamins E and C
Seabuckthorn is another oil high in vit. E and C.

Anti-inflammatory and Anti-bacterial
Seabuckthorn is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial making it a great topical application for acne and other skin blemishes.

Lavender Oil
The ancient Greeks used lavender oil and its antiseptic and anti-bacterial properties for a myriad of things like cleaning wounds, treating burns and other skin injuries. It's antiseptic properties help skin to heal faster.

Acne
Lavender oil's moisturizing and anti-bacterial properties make it a great oil for acne as it can kill the bacteria that is found in acne prone skin.

Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory
Lavender oil is great for soothing and healing irritated skin, it has a host of beneficial phytochemicals that fight free radical damage like like prolonged exposure to the Sun. Helping the skin to heal faster. This is another good oil for preventing wrinkles.

Remember that for good skin into old age prevention is better than cure so creams, oils and balms are no substitute for a good, balanced diet, sufficient intake of good, clean water and, of course , exercise. These play an even more important role in the maintenence of good skin collection.
