A goodbye?
Maybe not really.
From the time I started sharing more consistently, I realised that many of you did not just connect with Simply Natural Mw and my skincare journey, but also with me as a person.
Not just as a creator, but as a wife, a mommy, a medical doctor, an entrepreneur… and simply a woman navigating life and purpose one day at a time.
And lately, I have been feeling a strong need to create space for those more personal conversations, reflections, experiences, lessons, faith, motherhood, marriage, purpose, and life beyond skin and hair care.
Some of you may have noticed that this week I have been a little quieter here and I have not continued with the acne lessons as expected.
That is because behind the scenes, we have been working on some structural changes and making decisions about the direction and growth of Simply Natural Mw.
This page will continue to focus on skin, hair, wellness, beauty education, and helping you better understand and care for yourself in a simple and practical way — including continuing the acne lessons very soon 🤍
Simply Natural Mw has always been bigger than just me, and the goal remains the same: to grow it beyond my personal life, beyond my face, and beyond one individual.
And I believe the earlier we separate the pages and content, the better — so that each space can grow intentionally and serve its purpose clearly.
This is not me stepping away from Simply Natural Mw.
If anything, it is me strengthening it for growth, clarity, and sustainability.
Thank you for being here, for supporting Simply Natural Mw, and for being part of our journey. 🤍
And for those who would love to continue connecting with me beyond skin and hair, I would love to have you there too 🤍

Most of you have heard that I struggled with acne, but you may not know how it actually started.
Growing up, I had flawless skin. I never really had to think about skincare. Whatever lotion I used on my body, I would also use on my face—and it worked just fine.
Then I got to Form 4 and I started thinking, “I’m older now… I need a proper face cream.”
At the time, my best friend was using Nice & Lovely cream, and her skin looked soooo good.
So I started using that.
Then after one of the holidays, I saw another friend using a fairness cream, and she was glowing! I quickly dumped the nice and lovely and jumped on the new babe😅
After another holiday, I saw another friend using Clean & Clear, and it looked even more advanced and fancy.
Guess what I did?
I switched again!
And just like that, for about two to three months, I kept switching
—from Nice & Lovely to fairness cream, to Clean & Clear, to Gentle Magic, to Pond’s, to Fair & Lovely…
Back to back. No consistency.
No understanding. Just “it worked for her… she looks lovely!”
But remember—when I started all this, I didn’t even have a skin problem.
I wasn’t trying to fix anything. I was influenced.
I would see images of these creams or see how my friends’ skin looked, and I would think, “I want that too.”
So instead of being content with my skin, I started chasing theirs.
And in the process… I created a problem my skin never had.
My skin finally said, enough.
That’s when the breakouts started.
Not because my skin was bad, but because I kept confusing it.
1 Timothy 6:6 says, “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”
And honestly… that’s what I was missing.
I wasn’t content. I kept chasing what worked for other people instead of appreciating what I already had.

Do you all remember Dorothy, my friend? I hope you do.
One of the things Dorothy told me was, the importance of knowing my purpose—why God created me.
She gave an example that always makes me laugh.
She said,
“If you do not know your purpose, you may meet an engineer—someone whose goal is simply to make money, live comfortably, enjoy worldly pleasures, and build a life centered on self—and because you do not know your own calling, you may say yes, follow him, and quietly walk away from the purpose God created you for.”
That conversation changed how I prayed.
I began asking God:
“Lord, what is my purpose? Why did You create me?”
Unbeknownst to Dorothy, there was someone I had quietly admired for years—my high school crush, from the time I was in Form 1. For so long, that admiration lived silently in my heart, never imagining what God was writing behind the scenes.
Then, just six months after that conversation, in His perfect timing, God brought him into my life in a way I could not question.
God knew the fears I carried about men.
He knew the questions I had about marriage.
He knew the hesitations buried deep within me.
And because He knows me so well, He brought my husband into my life in such a clear and unmistakable way that I could not doubt—this was the man He had chosen for me.
Today, after four beautiful years of courtship and nearly five years of marriage—nine years of doing life together—I can say with deep gratitude:
This man has helped me know my purpose—and live it.
He has never buried me in his dreams.
He has supported what God placed in my heart.
He has stood by me when others doubted me.
He celebrates every win—big and small.
He has been my support system through and through.
And one beautiful expression of that is Simply Natural Malawi.
Simply Natural Malawi is part of God’s purpose for my life—and Owen has helped bring it to life.
He helped start it.
He helped sustain it.
And he is helping it grow.

Your skin is talking. Are you listening?
Let’s talk food and lifestyle and how they influence acne.
FOOD
High sugar and refined foods. You know these, don't you? They are probably in your pantries and fridges 🤭
White bread, white rice, cakes, sweets, fizzy drinks, etc.
These raise blood sugar and insulin, increasing oil production and inflammation.
➡️ More oil + blocked pores = more acne.
Dairy
Contains natural hormones and growth factors.
➡️ These increase oil production and speed up skin cell build-up inside pores, leading to breakouts.
Meat
Contains leucine, which activates growth signals in the body.
➡️ This increases oil production and speeds up skin cell build-up, leading to clogged pores and acne.
Processed and fatty foods
Increase inflammation in the body.
➡️ More inflammation = more acne.
💧 Water (Hydration)
Drinking enough water supports overall skin health.
👉 When you’re dehydrated, your skin may produce more oil to compensate.
➡️ More oil = higher chances of clogged pores and breakouts.
Water also helps with circulation and removal of waste products in the body, supporting clearer skin.
🧍♀️ LIFESTYLE
Stress
👉 Increases the hormone cortisol.
➡️ This triggers more oil production and breakouts.
Poor sleep
👉 Reduces skin repair and increases inflammation.
➡️ Slower healing and ongoing acne.
Low physical activity
👉 Affects circulation and inflammation control.
➡️ Poor skin balance = worsening acne.
Smoking and alcohol
👉 Increase inflammation and damage the skin barrier.
➡️ Slower healing and more severe acne.

Have you ever wondered why you are breaking out even when you are doing "the right things"?
Acne is NOT caused by just one thing. It happens when several factors come together.
🧴 1. Excess Oil (Sebum)
Your skin naturally produces oil to stay moisturized.
But too much oil can block pores and lead to acne.
🧼 2. Blocked Pores (Dead Skin Cells)
When dead skin cells are not removed properly, they mix with oil and block pores → causing blackheads and whiteheads.
🦠 3. Bacteria
A bacteria called Cutibacterium acnes can grow in blocked pores, leading to redness, swelling, and pimples.
🔄 4. Hormonal Changes
Hormones can increase oil production. Acne is common during:
Puberty
Menstrual cycle
Pregnancy
Stress
🍟 5. Diet and lifestyle
Though this may not directly cause acne in everyone, but they do worsen it in some individuals.
Common contributing factors include:
●High sugar and highly processed foods
●Dairy products
●Smoking
●Alcohol consumption
●Sedentary lifestyle (lack of physical activity)
●Poor sleep patterns
●Low water intake (dehydration)
💄 6. Skincare & Cosmetic Products
Some products can clog pores or irritate the skin, especially:
●Heavy moisturizers
●Thick foundation, concealer and powders
●Greasy sunscreens
●Hair oils/pomades touching the face
●Products not labeled non-comedogenic
●Wrong products for your skin type
😰 7. Stress
Stress doesn’t directly cause acne, but it can make it worse by affecting hormones and inflammation.
Tomorrow, we will take a closer look at some of these causes—especially diet, lifestyle habits, and skincare or cosmetic products—to understand how they specifically influence acne.
🧬 8. Genetics (Family History)
If acne runs in your family, you’re more likely to experience it too.
Your genes can affect oil production, pore clogging, and how your skin reacts to hormones—making breakouts happen even when you’re doing everything right.
Have a blessed night
🤍🤍

Today we begin our lessons on acne.
I will be sharing in both English and Chichewa (Chichewa will be in the comment section).
These lessons will be short and simple so I don’t overload you with information—and so I don’t use too much medical jargon 😊
Let’s get started 👇🏽
What is acne?
In very simple terms, acne is a common skin condition that happens when pores become blocked by oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria—leading to pimples or breakouts.
It commonly affects the face, chest, shoulders, and back—and can affect both teenagers and adults.
Types of acne:
• Whiteheads – closed, clogged pores
• Blackheads – open pores where oil and bacteria get trapped and turn dark
• Papules / Pustules – red, inflamed spots, sometimes with pus
• Nodules / Cysts – large, deep, painful lumps filled with pus
Many people associate acne with poor hygiene—but that’s a common misconception.
Acne is a medical skin condition influenced by several internal and external factors, and we will explore these causes in the coming lessons.
I hope that from this simple explanation and the picture shared, you will be able to identify which type of acne you are experiencing.
Tomorrow, we will look at the causes of acne
A blessed night to you all! 🤍

Every time I have a business event, prayer is part of my preparation.
Not just personally—but as a family, we come together and pray.
On this particular day, I was both pitching and displaying my products. We prayed intentionally—for sales, for the right opportunities, and for meaningful connections.
We got the sales, the opportunities, and the meaningful connections…
God truly showed up.
I’m sharing this to encourage you: whatever you’re stepping into—business, work, opportunities—pray about it. Invite God into it. Be specific with your desires, and have faith.
For “…If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” — Mark 9:23

A few days ago, Luther was throwing a tantrum.
He had finished his porridge and wanted more.
There were sweet potatoes instead, but he didn’t want that.
He wanted bread—but it wasn’t ready for consumption yet. We usually wait at least 24 hours for our yeast bread.
So he started crying.
Luke, on the other hand, was full and happily playing. And me? I had woken up late, was way behind my schedule, and already on edge.
I tried to calm him down, but to no avail.
So I sent him to his father.
But when he got there, he said, “I want mommy,” as the reason he was crying. His dad tried to soothe him, but he wasn’t having it. He wanted his mommy.
So he was brought back to me, and my husband took Luke with him.
So it was just the two of us.
A toddler in a full tantrum… and a mother who was ready to break.
The noise, the crying, the exhaustion—it all met in that moment.
Then the words from the song “My Lord and I” came to mind:
“I tell Him all my sorrows, I tell Him all my joys…”
And then a question followed—soft, but piercing:
Have you told Him?
And that was it. I broke down crying.
And in the middle of his own sobs, Luther reached for my phone and gently handed it to me—as if trying to soothe me.
I looked at him, and our eyes met…
He stopped crying and started eating the sweet potatoes cheerfully.
And I… I cheered up too.
I didn’t say a word to the Lord—
but He definitely heard my heart.
The rest of that stanza says:
“He tells me what I ought to do,
He tells me how to try,
And so we talk together,
My Lord and I.”
And He did tell me what to do.
He brought back peace
and took away the chaos.
Surely sometimes the most meaningful moments don’t come in silence or perfection.
They come in the middle of chaos—
when God gently turns our hearts back to Him
and reminds us to tell Him all our joys and all our sorrows.
So today, whatever you’re carrying—
don’t hold it in.
Don’t carry it alone.
Call on Him.
Wishing you a blessed Sabbath 🤍
Love,
Dr Mommy

Last night, I stayed up late restocking shea cream for babies—something I had completely forgotten needed doing.
As I waited for the butters to melt, I scrolled through Facebook… and then...
Dorothee had posted.
She hadn’t been active in a while! And there it was—a life update: she got married.
I smiled! I beamed! I
I ran to my husband(who was also working late), almost like a child with exciting news.
“Dorothee got married!”
Now you might wonder… why was I that excited?
Because Dorothee is not just someone from Facebook.
She is the person I once ran to when my heart was broken.
There was a time when a certain "atsogo" hurt me. I was crushed and needed someone to talk to—desperately.
Normally, I would have gone to my mom. But I couldn’t, because she didn’t even know there was someone who was pursuing me, someone I was quietly falling for.
I couldn’t tell my friends either, for the same reason.
Coincidentally—what I now see as divine providence—Dorothee had posted a video on YouTube talking about singleness and contentment.
I loved that video. I had already been drawn to her from previous content, and when I watched it, something in me just felt… safe. Like she was the only person I could talk to.
In my mind, it made sense. She didn’t know me, and we would probably never meet in this life, as we were literally worlds apart. So I thought I could be vulnerable safely.
But Dorothee didn’t treat me like a stranger.
She treated me like a sister… a little sister.
She listened. She spoke life into me. She helped me see clearly again. What she said that day reshaped how I understood love, relationships, and even myself.
I remember walking away from that conversation feeling free. Lighter. Changed.
It’s amazing how God can use someone who feels so far away to touch your life so deeply.
