In that vein of new year = new resolve and the plan to get on with things — we can be brought up short by those tasks that do not bring us joy. For me, it’s the very thought of sorting out my paperwork for the tax return. Exhausting before I begin. This year my resolve was to get on with it immediately in January rather than a last minute flurry to meet the end of the month deadline. I had resolved to start on the 2nd and I did. All began well yesterday and then I began to falter… the thought of the task became more tiring than climbing a steep hill. Maybe I should do some cleaning, baking, go for a walk, read a book… (always easy to justify displacement activity..) however, resolve won, with a little help…

I took Hornbeam. Two drops straight from the stock bottle into my mouth. I could have added it to a drink but experience has taught me it’s advisable to keep drinks away from a crowded desk and laptop…
