Movement & Our Body"
Let's talk about something we don't discuss enough in wellness spaces. πΏ
Our bodies face a very specific set of challenges:
βοΈ Heat and humidity that makes outdoor movement genuinely hard
π A carbohydrate-rich food culture that is also one of the most delicious in the world (no shame here!)
π Cities built around cars, not walking
π» Jobs that demand we sit still for 8β10 hours a day
π΄ A culture that glorifies busyness over rest
And yet β we are also a nation with incredible natural assets for movement:
π΄ Rainforest and nature at our doorstep
πΈ A deep sporting culture (we gave the world Lee Chong Wei and Nicol David!)
π A faith tradition that builds movement into daily life through prayer
ποΈ A kampung spirit that makes community exercise joyful, not lonely
The problem was never willpower. The problem was never laziness.
The problem is that nobody designed a movement practice around OUR actual lives.
That's what we're doing this May. Movement that fits. Movement that lasts. π

"Friday Move"
Today - hereβs a gentle invitation:
Sometime today After prayers β step outside.
Leave your phone in your pocket. Walk slowly for 15 minutes.
Not for fitness. Not to hit a step count. Not to burn calories.
Just to breathe. To be present. To let your thoughts settle the way water settles when you stop stirring it.
In our noisy, rushing, always-connected lives - this kind of movement is medicine for the soul β not just the body
Our grandparents walked to work, place of worship, the market and to each other's homes. Walking is woven into our DNA.
Somewhere along the way, we stopped!!.
Today β just for 10 minutes β we return.
In stillness, there is strength. ποΈ

"Why We Move?
We need to talk about WHY we move. Because "to lose weight" is not enough. πΏ
It's not enough to get you out of bed on a difficult morning.
It's not enough to keep you going when life gets hard.
It's not enough to sustain a habit for 31 days β or a lifetime.
So here are the real reasons we move:
π§ Because 30 minutes of movement has the same effect on mild depression as antidepressants β and it's free.
β€οΈ Because your heart gets stronger every single time you ask it to work a little harder.
π΄ Because people who move regularly fall asleep faster and sleep more deeply β and we are a nation that is desperately tired.
π©Έ Because movement is the single most powerful tool for managing blood sugar β critical in a country where diabetes affects 1 in 5 adults.
π Because you feel better. More like yourself. More alive. More in your body and less trapped in your head.
THAT is why we move.
Not to be smaller. To be more fully, gloriously, vibrantly ALIVE.

Welcome to a brand new month in our Wellness Circle β and this month, we focus on one powerful word: MOVEMENT πΆββοΈβ¨
Movement is not about intense workouts or pushing your limits!
Itβs about waking up your body, boosting your energy, and feeling alive again. Itβs time to get our bodies moving gently and consistently π
π« Todayβs Simple Challenge (Day 1):
Choose any ONE movement activity and just START:
β’ Walk for 10 minutes
β’ Stretch your body for 5 minutes
β’ Do light house movement (cleaning, gardening)
β’ Take the stairs instead of the lift
No pressure. No perfection. Just MOVE.

πΏ After a little while away β I'm back.
Just a quiet knowing that the time is right to return.
Something is beginning here in May. Something I've been preparing for β and honestly, something I believe you've been waiting for too, even if you didn't know it.
This May, I'm taking my Wellness Circle through 31 Days of Movement. Every day. Real tips. Real challenges. Real transformation β built around our Malaysian lives, our Malaysian rhythm and the kind of movement that actually fits into the way we live.
No gym required. No fitness background needed. Just a willingness to show up for yourself β one day at a time.
And here's the part I'm most excited about: somewhere in this community, there are people who are ready for more than just following. People who are ready to LEAD.
This month, I'll be showing you exactly what that looks like. π

Life just gets to us at times! We seem to be running in circles overcoming challenges, celebrating wins etc etc. More often than not, what we need is a breather - take a βKit Katβ as the advertisement saysβ¦β¦

Do you bathe in hot or cold water? Did you know that your choice had its own health benefits?
My parents who are in their 80s prefer to bathe in cold water. I prefer hot water
