I was visiting a relative’s house the other day and forgot to bring my Multipurpose Soap to wash my toddler’s silicone plate.

I ended up washing his silicone plate with a commercial dishwashing liquid scented with lemon.

After washing, the lemon scent lingered on the plate and a whiff of it made me frown.

It may be important to note also that the dishwashing liquid had already been diluted with a lot of water before I used it.

I remembered washing my water bottle with a commercial liquid dishwashing detergent and the water I drank tasted like synthetic lemon after that.

It was hard to imagine how my toddler would react if he had smelled it and thought that was what food smelled like and rejected it.
