Meet Zul, frisbee player from Brunei 🇧🇳
We met at the MUO 2023 as he stopped by for a quick screening and fixing after the intense game, which also where he got his knee injured.
We physios are always the supporting role when comes to sports! We take immediate action to assess the severity, acute care to provide the temporary relief and continue on the game as needed, then work on the post game/training recovery as well!
Another important thing to look out is the communication with the athletes respectively; how to convey concise information in a reassuring manner and providing that realistic expectation for what to do next!
I love my role of being a sports physio whenever is needed 🫶🏻💪🏻🔥

Sciatica refers to pain, weakness, numbness, or tingling in the leg. It is caused by injury to or pressure on the sciatic nerve. Sciatica is a symptom of a medical problem. It is not a medical condition by itself.
The pain most often occurs on one side. Some people have sharp pain in one part of the leg or hip and numbness in other parts. The pain or numbness may also be felt on the back of the calf or on the sole of the foot. The affected leg may feel weak. Sometimes, your foot gets caught on the ground when walking.
As sciatica is a symptom of a more specific medical condition, the underlying cause should be identified and treated.
Prevention varies, depending on the cause of the nerve damage. Avoid prolonged sitting or lying with pressure on the buttocks.
Having strong back and abdominal muscles is important to avoid sciatica. As we aged, it's a good idea to do exercises to strengthen your core.

One of my goals achieved ✅ in 2023, and also manage to graduate under my Master Roy who I started to begin with in 2015! I’m beyond blessed and thankful 🥲🫰🏼
So why martial arts? Most people would think for self defence, competition or for title/pride and whatever you could think of.
For me, it started out as for the community!
Then I found the benefit of learning be discipline, patience, mindfulness and also staying fit/active🫰🏼💪🏻
Not forgetting to thank for providing therapist’s benefit to support this sport in order to improve our physical health and overall wellbeing!

Meet Dorine, my youngest yet very dedicated and responsive client ☺️🫰🏼! She was found with scoliosis at the age of 15, which then comes with the symptoms of back pain and affected the hectic schoolwork, travelling and activities etc. After going through a journey of rehab program with her, she is able to achieve the specific muscle activation through proper cues and commands as we work together in communication and feedback. It definitely helps her move better and of quality which then can enhance her daily activities efficiently. Practice good posture and it goes a long way.
It can be quite common to find out that one may have scoliosis especially among the teenagers, when they going through puberty, and such common kind of scoliosis we called it idiopathic scoliosis, no one knows for sure why people get it, but research found that it runs in the families.
What is Scoliosis?
Abnormal curvature of the spine, multifactorial three-dimensional (3D) spinal deformity.
Physiotherapy definitely can help in such condition, with specific approach to reduce the deceleration curve progression and educate them the necessary awareness and managing them.
Get them treated as early as possible to prevent the deterioration, attain body longevity independently!
