People always ask me if I sketch or plan the whole design beforehand, but the truth is… I don’t.
I usually have an idea of the style my bride wants, but once I start drawing, I let the creativity flow. Every pattern, every flower and every little detail naturally finds its place as I go along.
It’s the part where the first few elements come together and slowly set the direction for everything that follows.
I think that’s what I love most about henna.
No two designs are ever exactly the same because no two moments of creativity are ever the same ❤️
This was just the beginning… and I couldn’t wait to see how beautifully the rest of the design unfolded. ✨

Sometimes people think you need a full arm design for henna to look beautiful.
But even in the smallest space, there’s room for so much detail ❤️
One thing I love about creating henna is that no space is ever too little. Every curve, every line and every tiny detail has its own place. It’s like putting together little pieces of a puzzle until everything flows beautifully.
I’ve always believed that it’s not about how much space you have, but how you use it.
And honestly… these little beginnings of a design are one of my favourite parts. Watching a blank wrist slowly come to life with every stroke of the cone never gets old ❤️

One of the questions I get asked the most is, “Does clove steaming really make a difference?” 👀
My answer is always YES ❤️
Henna absolutely loves heat.
The stain from henna develops when the dye molecules bind to the proteins in your skin. Heat helps this process along by encouraging deeper dye release and allowing the stain to develop darker and richer.
This is why clove steaming has been a traditional henna aftercare method for generations.
I always recommend doing a gentle clove steam twice:
✨ After the henna application has dried on your hands.
✨ Again after you have removed the henna paste.
The warmth from the steam helps keep the henna active and supports stain development during those crucial hours when your stain is still oxidising and darkening.
A common misconception is that once the henna is applied, the work is done. In reality, some of the most important steps happen after your appointment.
Good quality henna, keeping the paste on for a long time, clove steaming, avoiding water after removal, and regularly moisturising with natural oils all work together to give you the best possible stain.
Of course, clove steaming isn’t about holding your hands over the pot for ages! A few gentle passes through the warm steam is enough. Too much heat can become uncomfortable, so always do it carefully.
After spending hours creating your henna, it only makes sense to spend a few extra minutes helping it develop into the beautiful dark stain you’re hoping for ❤️
Trust me, your future stain will thank you 😉

For the sweetheart ❤️
The beauty of henna appointment besides drawing is that it’s simply spending a few lovely hours with a lovely person ❤️
Sharmilee was such a sweet and gentle bride to be around. The whole appointment felt calm, easy and comfortable, and those are honestly some of my favourite kinds of appointments.
As much as I love creating henna, one of the things I appreciate most about this job is meeting so many different people along the way. Every bride brings a different energy and Sharmilee’s was one of kindness and warmth ❤️
Thank you for trusting me to be a small part of your wedding journey and for spending the day with me.
Wishing you all the happiness and love ❤️✨

For one of the sweetest brides I have ever had, ❤️
I swear even if I get Alzheimer’s one day, I don’t think I can ever forget this bride 🥹❤️
She was just so so so sweet.
One thing that really stood out to me about Natysha was how much she genuinely appreciated me being her henna artist. Not just because she needed a henna artist and booked whoever was available, but because she appreciated my work and trusted me to be a part of her big day ❤️
I always see makeup artists posting about how their brides gifted them little presents or made them feel so appreciated and I used to think that’s so sweet.
But honestly, I don’t think henna artists get that as often ❤️🩹
We’re usually one of the first vendors to spend time with the bride and probably spend the longest hours with her too. Yet sometimes we just become another vendor on the wedding checklist.
So when Natysha gifted me a beautiful sari at the end of the appointment, it really touched me ❤️
It wasn’t about receiving a gift.
It was the thought behind it.
It was knowing that she appreciated me, appreciated my work and wanted me to know that.
And trust me, that means more than any gift ever could ❤️
Thank you Natysha for making me feel so valued and appreciated. People like you are one of the reasons why I love doing what I do.
Also can we just appreciate how beautiful her henna turned out 😍
We personalised it with her initials and even included her husband’s favourite football club logo which made it even more special ❤️
This will definitely be one of those appointments and brides that I’ll remember for a very very long time!
