Sleep 💤 : often the forgotten piece of the puzzle when it comes to achieving your nutrition related goals and/or weight loss.
Sleep deprivation occurs when “an individual’s biological sleep need is not met”. In population based studies, the definitions vary, however sleep deprivation is typically considered acquiring less than 7 hours/ night. Although the average reported sleep time amongst the Australian population is approximately 7 hours, 12% reported sleeping less than 5½ hours/ night. When you put this in to perspective that’s about 3.8 Million people in Australia deprived of sleep 😱.
Research has demonstrated that individuals who regularly slept less than 7 hours/night were more likely to have higher average BMI and develop obesity than those who slept more.
This is because sleep restriction has been associated with ⬆️ levels of ghrelin &⬇️ levels of leptin, plus a few other additional factors (I.e salt retention, inflammatory markers, insulin sensitivity, ect).
Leptin (=😁)is released from adipose tissue (fat) & acts on receptors in the brain to inhibit appetite, therefore promoting satiety or feeling of ‘fullness’, limiting food intake. Grehlin (= 😡), is the opposite to this - think of Grhelin as “Grr I’m Hungry”- it’s released from the stomach & pancreas & stimulates appetite, fluctuating thought the day with food intake.
Because there is less of this 😁 (leptin) & more of this 😡 (grhelin) circulating, due to sleep deprivation, research has shown an ⬆️ in hunger, especially for foods dense in fats & carbs, therefore ⬆️caloric intake. Furthermore, other studies revealed behavioural mechanisms, such as reduced physical activity due to ⬆️ fatigue with sleep deprivation, & irregular feeding, were also possible links between sleep deprivation & obesity.
Addressing the former issue may help you to achieve your goals. It is important to note that further investigations are needed in order to conclude this effect.
So sleep deprivation may induce food cravings & over eating, however it’s not just how much sleep we’re getting but also the quality of our sleep.

Spicy Chicken with chickpea pasta + 1/2 avocado
👉🏻Recipe: Whilst 2 breasts cook, mix 1/4 cup hot sauce + 2 tbsp coconut aminos + 1 tsp garlic + 2 tbsp + seasoning + 🍯 Coat with mixture then bake 400F for 20 mins.

2️⃣ 🥬THAT’S A WRAP
BBQ chicken tacos🙌🏻 Easy, summer-y meal😎
Paired with nacho chips + 1/2 avocado as dip.
BBQ chicken: Cook chicken, shred with fork. Next, add 1/2 cup BBQ sauce and mix. Add to Romaine Lettuce cups, add onion + tomato.

3️⃣🌽CHICKEN STIR-FRY
Chicken grilled with BBQ rub + 1/2 avocado with red pepper flakes + grilled corn on the cob + grilled veggies with olive oil and Italian seasoning. Such a wholesome and delicious meal!

Sweet potato nachos with salsa!
Slice 2 sp, add 1 tsp of oil then cook. Topped with leftover chicken shredded + black beans + avocado + jalapeños + tomatoes + onions.

Chicken with lots of veggies, topped with a little honey + lime mixture ... Simmer juice 1 lime + 2 tbsp honey + 1 tbsp coconut aminos + salt for 5 mins. Served with brussel sprouts + sp chips + 1/2 mashed avocado.

Slimshake diet 101. If you are trying to lose weight, calories deficit is very important. Slimshake help you feeling full with high fibre and nutritious shake 😊.

About The Role
Initially the role will be full time WFH (work from home) The role comes in 2 parts:
One :- Designing new product labels, website banners and marketing images.
A daily post on social media once every 2 days, one marketing image per week and product labels as and when required.
Two :- Managing an online store, including:
Replying to queries from Instagram, Facebook, Shopee, Lazada and WhatsApp accounts.
Daily administration tasks such as order processing (all can be done on a laptop and no technical knowledge required).
Ensuring stock levels are sufficient.
Responsibilities
• Creating modern, fresh and unique labels and marketing images
• Contributing to various digital marketing campaigns
• Being able to work independently from home
• Create, innovate and problem solve product and branding solutions for Woodland Nutrition
Preferred (but not required):
• 3 years of experience in the field of Graphic Design
• Strong command of Photoshop, Illustrator
• Knowledge of visual ideation, creative problem solving, typography, branding and print design
• A deep attention to detail and a meticulous dedication to proper delivery
• The ability to multi-task and solve challenges
• Good communication skills and a collaborative nature
• Passionate for design, creativity and technology
