Saw a post recently of a small boy helping his mother, cleaning the house and cooking a simple dish. The caption proudly said, “This is how you raise a man.”
It made me think, actually raising a man isn’t just about cooking or cleaning.
Those are basic survival skills, something both genders should learn.
Knowing how to cook a meal or sweep the floor doesn’t define a man; it simply teaches independence, and that’s for everyone. Boy or girl needs it for their own survival.
What truly defines a man is his character.
It’s in how he speaks to a woman, how he respects her, how he carries himself with humility and strength.
It’s about learning to protect, not control.
To provide, not just with money, but with care, presence, and emotional support.
A real man isn’t measured by how neat his house is or how well he cooks, he’s measured by his values, his patience and sense of responsibility. That’s what makes him a green flag.
Cooking and cleaning are things we can easily hire someone to do,
but
the heart, manners, and morals of a man that must be built, taught, and guided at home.
These can’t be outsourced; they need to be instilled.
That’s the real art of raising a man. Im raising a 16yrs old and I know what I’m talking about.

Knock knock… been some time since I wrote something kan?
Okie a quick one.
This whole month, I’ve been in another state, visiting temples almost few times a week.
And I noticed… so many walking in with loose hair.
I’m not the fashion police please, but there’s a reason our elders tell us to tie our hair in a temple.
Not short hair yang above shoulder but the longer ones..
Tying hair its not just about looking neat.
Spiritually, loose hair means scattered energy.
And in a temple where the air is charged with mantras, prayers, and divine presence tying your hair helps you hold on to that blessing. You leave with it in you, not floating away.
Some might say, “But even the deities have loose hair!”
True but are we the deity… ma’am?
The gods can appear in any form wild, crowned, simple because they are the source.
We? We’re there to receive.
We’re just human beings going to the temple, asking the Divine Source for what we need and they are the ones who bless us with it. So how can we ever compare ourselves to them? Betul tak, you logically fikir.
if you want the full benefit of your visit… trust me. Tie your hair. You’ll feel the difference.
After all, that’s the purpose we visit the temple, right?
Again, I’m not saying this like a fashion police, I’m saying it out of concern.
I could easily keep quiet and think, “yepediyo pongge”, but it’s just that I know the value of this small practice and how much difference it can make to your life.

People always say, “We all have the same 24 hours.” That’s true in numbers, but in real life, how we use those 24 hours is very different.
Me for instance , I don’t have to cook or clean every day.
I don’t have kids to take care of.
I have more time to do what I love, and I can plan my day the way I want.
But not everyone has that.
Some people have children to look after, they have to drive them to school, help with homework, cook for the family, and do so many things at home.
Some people have help at home, and some do everything on their own.
Even the time we wake up is different. People say, “Wow, you wake up at 5am!”
But that’s because I go to sleep early, and my day ends earlier.
For others, their evening starts only at 8pm, they may still be cooking or helping their kids at that time.
So instead of thinking, “She can do it, why can’t I?” or feeling bad when we see others doing more and better , we should remember that everyone’s life is different.
What works for one person may not work for another and that’s okay.
We’re all walking different paths.
So let’s not compare who is doing more or less. Let’s just focus on doing our best in the life we have.
Everyone’s timing is different, and that’s what makes each journey special.
