HOW DOES BOTOX® WORK?
BOTOX® is an injectable drug that weakens muscle to help with lines and wrinkles. In order for any muscle in the body to contract, the nerves release a chemical messenger at the point where your nerve endings meet your muscle cells. Acetylcholine then attaches to those receptors and causes the cells to contract. BOTOX® injections stop the release of acetylcholine, which prevents the muscle cells from contracting. WHAT IS BOTOX?
