This was one of the many powerful lessons shared by Ibu Hanim during the Q4 Leaders Forum arranged by Coway Malaysia. Every day, we must revisit our WHY—the driving force behind what we do. And this WHY is divided into three key parts:

1. STRONG WHY (Personal Goals)

This is your personal motivation. What drives you to work hard?
A Strong WHY is tied to what you want for yourself and your family. You must be specific. For example, how big do you want your dream house to be? What color will it be? How many floors will it have?
In your career, how far do you want to go? Do you aspire to be a CEO? To own a company?
The point is, your Strong WHY must be crystal clear. If you don’t have a clear vision of your personal goals, then stop right here because the next two WHYs won’t make sense to you. Without this clarity, you’re merely existing without a real direction.

2. BIG WHY (Purpose Beyond Self)

This WHY goes beyond yourself. It’s about how your life’s work can contribute to others.
Reflect on why you were placed on this earth. Are you here just to work today so you can eat tomorrow? Or do you want your efforts to impact the lives of others?
God has given us intelligence and a purpose in this world—so, what value can you bring to those around you? A Big WHY is about the bigger picture: how you can inspire, help, and make a difference in others’ lives through your work and actions.

3. ULTIMATE WHY (Legacy)

This is the most profound WHY—the legacy you want to leave behind.
After you’ve left this world, how do you want to be remembered? What will people think of when they hear your name?
Do you want your children and grandchildren to say, “Our grandfather or grandmother was hardworking and wise, and we’re continuing their legacy”?
Or do you want people to remember you as the one who was committed, driven, and always willing to help others?
Alternatively, will they say, “He was lazy, all talk and no action,” or “She was always angry and selfish, only caring about her own way”?
It’s up to you to choose how people will remember you. Make sure that your Ultimate WHY is something you think about every day. It should guide your actions so that you leave a legacy of impact, respect, and inspiration.

To summarize, be clear about these three WHYs in your mind and revisit them constantly. They will help you stay grounded, motivated, and focused on what truly matters.
