When we got pregnant, he asked me to move in with him so we could go through the journey together. I was living with a friend while working to save money to rent a place for myself. When he told me to move in, I was very delighted that he had agreed to do it with me.

Since I’d been here, I’ve supported the house in any way that I can. I cooked without asking for money. I paid for electricity and on top of that did all the domestic jobs around here. He was very good to me in every way.

We never fought or argued. He told me he was going to visit his parents in Apam and would come back in two days. He’s been gone for almost a month, and I haven’t heard from him. His phone has been off. I don’t know any of his family members or any friend I can ask about him.

To make matters worse, the landlord came here this morning to tell me our rent was due three months ago and he hadn’t made any effort to pay. The landlord hasn’t been able to reach him for a month, so I should move out in just one week.

This is making me feel the whole escape was intentional. Listening to the landlord, he had threatened him with eviction for months, and each month he begged him, and he extended it.

I’m four months along but don’t know how to carry on without him. My friend says I can return, which I’m very grateful for, but I’m confused why he would treat me this way. He should have talked to me about it. But he disappeared without a trace. Hmmm.
