Those of you saying ochanya was assaulted because her parents couldn't cater for her needs, she lived in a community with only one government school and the teachers were constantly going on strike, so inorder for her to further her education, her parents sent her to live with her aunt(mother's sister) and her family inorder to further her education.

Ochanya was first sexually assaulted when she was 8years old by her aunt's son until he was caught by his own sister, mind you he was reported to their father according to"ochanya" which he scolded the boy and started assaulting ochanya too and this continued for a long time

One day, her biological father decided to check up on her, on getting there he discovered that she couldn't move her left hand and legs, then he gave them money to take her to the hospital and she was admitted for 6 days.

After recovery, she went back to school and few months later, her mum was called that her condition has deteriorated and she was diagnosed with VVF(vesicova**nal fistula: an abnormal opening between the va**na and the bladder, causing continuous leakage of urine).

Despite all she was passing through ochanya didn't speak up(imagine the trauma she was passing through 😭), she didn't speak out until her mum examined her and found that she has been sexually assaulted.. After all the struggles and all ochanya died on 17/10/2018.

After the death of ochanya, her parents didn't keep quiet, they fought but the judicial system in Nigeria failed them. Ochanya died a death that no girl child deserved

This were the words that left my ex neighbour's mouth when I asked him where his wife was.

Now let me brief you guys, on what really happened.

This woman (which happens to be the man's wife) sells a mini shop In front of our house and some times she helps us to clear our compound while pay her, (all this just for survival)

The man on the other hand does menial jobs, but instead of providing for his family, he squanders the money on ci******es, so the woman becomes the breadwinner of the family

On this faithful day, there was no food in the house for the children to eat so the wife decided to use the remaining foodstuffs in her shop to cook for the children to eat

The man comes back(mind you, he didn't drop any money for food) and saw his children eating and demanded for his, but there was none remaining and then he pounced on the woman

The main reason for beating his wife was that his children was eating and there's was none for him

This made me realise that our parents only remember to train the daughter's well for marriage and left the men out

Now when this men, grow up and eventually marries u will just see the errors

Please this generation of parents, train ur sons too, home training is not for the girls alone, equip this men

If care is not taken, this errors will keep piling up and no one to correct them
