In case you missed it, FDA has approved Philips Morris International Ni****ne Pouches for sales.

Their studies showed that the pouches pose a lower risk of cancer than traditional to***co products like ci******es.

This seems laudable but this is what we have been trying to get across to people about how important to***co harm reduction is especially in reducing smoking-related diseases.

So can we call this further confirmation that to***co harm reduction works?

Reducing harm is more than just a stepping stone to quitting, it is a public health intervention!

You can decide not to quit but try to reduce the harm that comes with smoking by switching to safer alternatives.

This reaffirms the core difference between reducing harm and quitting and to show that reducing harm is not just for quitting purposes.

There have been attempts to discredit safer alternatives, such as vapes, by claiming that they contain harmful chemicals just like ci******es.

Well, not the smartwatches themselves but an app has been developed by a team at the University of Bristol to enhance smoke cessation in the UK.

How does this work?

The app uses a technology that can identify the hand mobility of smokers and send empowering messages to the screen with buttons to quit with link to NHS support services or to swipe it away.
