S*X IN PREGNANCY
**********************
Pregnant women and their partners often wonder if it's safe to have s*x during pregnancy.
_1. Will it result in miscarriage?_
_2. Will it harm the unborn baby?_
_3. Are there s*x positions to avoid?_
*Here's the information you've been looking for.*
*Is S*x Safe During Pregnancy?*
****************************
S*x is a natural, normal part of pregnancy -- if you're having a normal pregnancy. Pe*******on and in*******se’s movement won't harm the baby, who is protected by your abdomen and the uterus’ muscular walls.
Your baby is also cushioned by the amniotic sac’s fluid.
*_The contractions of or**sm aren't the same as labor contractions._*
Still, as a general safety precaution, some doctors advise avoiding s*x in the final weeks of pregnancy, believing that *hormones in semen called prostaglandins* can stimulate contractions.
One exception may be for women who are overdue and want to induce labor.
Some doctors believe that prostaglandins in semen actually induce labor in a full-term or past-due pregnancy, since the gel used to "ripen" the cervix and induce labor also contains prostaglandins.
But other doctors believe this semen/labor connection is only theoretical and that having s*x doesn't trigger labor.
_As for or**sm, those contractions aren't the same as labor contractions._
So there's no problem there.
*When Not to Have S*x During Pregnancy*
*****************************
Your doctor may advise you not to have s*x if you have any of the following types of high-risk pregnancy:
1. You're at risk for miscarriage or history of past miscarriages
2. You're at risk for preterm labor (contractions before 37 weeks of pregnancy)
3. You're having vaginal bleeding, discharge, or cramping without a known cause
4.Your amniotic sac is leaking fluid or has ruptured membranes
5. Your cervix has opened too early in pregnancy
6. Your placenta is too low in the uterus (placenta previa)
7. You're expecting twins, triplets, or other "multiples"
NOTE WELL
**************
*1. Keep in mind, if your doctor says "no s*x," that may include anything that involves or**sm or s*xual arousal, not just in*******se.*
2. Every woman's experiences during pregnancy are different -- including how she feels about s*x.
2.1 For some, desire fades during pregnancy.
2.2 Other women feel more deeply connected to their s*xuality and more aroused when they're pregnant.
3. During pregnancy, it's normal for s*xual desire to come and go as your body changes.
4.You may feel self-conscious as your belly grows. Or you may feel s*xier with larger, fuller breasts.
5.1. Tell your partner what you're feeling and what works.
5.2. You may need to play with positions, especially later in pregnancy, to find one that's both comfortable and stimulating for you.
6. *Avoid lying flat on your back in the "missionary position" for s*x after the fourth month of pregnancy* . That way, you can avoid the weight of the growing baby constricting major blood vessels.
7. 1. Another way to make s*x more comfortable is to try lying sideways together.
7.2 Or you might try positioning yourself upright or sitting on top.
*As always, if you're not absolutely sure about your partner's s*xual history, use condoms.* _Pregnancy doesn't protect against s*xually transmitted infections -- such as HIV, herpes, ge***al warts, or chlamydia -- and those infections can affect your baby._
