That question stayed with me throughout our first day in Burdur.

We explored one of Türkiye’s protected Anatolian Sweetgum forests, a rare ecosystem so important that public access is restricted. Before entering, my fellow participants happily covered themselves with my Nana Body Oil, which unexpectedly became the group’s mosquito repellent of choice. 😄🌿

We met an incredibly warm and inspiring governor whose love for her city was evident in every story she shared. We discovered local traditions, tasted regional specialties, and learned how deeply scent, plants, and culture are woven into daily life.

But the moment that stayed with me most was at the museum.

Standing before 2,000-year-old sarcophagi, carved with such beauty, detail, and love, I found myself wondering how people created something so extraordinary that it could outlive them by centuries.

It made me ask myself:

What will be my legacy?

What stories, creations, or acts of kindness will remain long after I’m gone?

Perhaps that is why heritage matters so much. It reminds us that while our time is limited, the impact we have on others can echo far beyond our own lives. The places we protect, the traditions we preserve, and the care we show one another become part of a legacy that continues long after we are gone.
