The finished space is always the easy part to show. But how did we get here?
Let’s go back to the process of creating the display area for Project NDS2, from the very first step, the work behind the scenes, the details, the adjustments, and all the little decisions that eventually brought the final space together.
Because as beautiful as the final result is, there’s a whole story behind getting there.
So, here’s a little rewind. From Before→ process→ final result.

For Project NDS(2), we wanted the manicure area to feel like more than just a functional corner.
We wanted it to have a certain softness to it, the kind of space that immediately makes you feel relaxed, but still feels elevated and intentional.
We worked with a warm, earthy palette, layered textures and soft curves to create that balance between functionality and aesthetics. The limewash finish was a big part of the design because we wanted the walls to have movement and character without taking away from the other elements in the space.
Then came the custom manicure table. I knew I didn’t want a regular rectangular nail table sitting in the middle of the room, so we played around with the form and introduced those soft, sculptural curves. It became one of my favourite elements in the space because it feels like furniture, but almost like a piece of art at the same time.
And then, of course, the mirror. 😍
I wanted the mirror to do more than serve its obvious purpose. The large scale helps open up the space visually, the backlighting adds another layer of warmth, and the reflection of the staircase creates this beautiful connection between both sides of the room.
One thing I’ve learnt from designing spaces is that the little details matter just as much as the big ones. The lighting temperature, the texture on the wall, the shape of a table, the proportion of a mirror, the way materials meet, all of these things contribute to how a space feels.
For me, good interior design isn’t about filling a space with beautiful things. It’s about making every element make sense.
And this manicure area is a perfect example of that.

The final layers, the finishing touches, it’s definitely one of my favorite days on site.
One of the most rewarding parts of every project is seeing months of planning finally come to life.
Set up days are rarely as calm as they look. They’re filled with moving pieces, last minute decisions, teamwork, and a lot of styling and accessorizing, but this is where the transformation happens.
A questionable career choice, but a beautiful one🙂
