THE WHISPERING COMPOUND 🩸
Episode 1: The House That Breathes
Everyone in Umueze old town knew one rule:
Never enter House Number 6 after sunset.
The house sat at the end of the dusty road, half swallowed by darkness, its walls cracked like dry skin. Even during the day, the place looked like it was watching you.
But that night, Awa broke the rule.
The rain had started suddenly, and she was running home when she heard it.
A whisper.
“Awa…”
She stopped.
Her name again.
It came from House Number 6.
Her heart began to beat fast. Nobody knew she was outside. Nobody.
The wooden gate of the compound slowly opened by itself, creeeek, like a mouth opening to speak. Cold air rushed out, carrying a smell of dust… and something rotten.
Awa stepped back.
Then she saw it.
Footprints appeared on the wet ground — bare feet, forming one by one — walking towards her.
But there was no body.
Suddenly, the whisper came again, this time right beside her ear:
“You finally came back…”
Awa screamed.
And the lights in the whole street went out.
